just post it hear so we all can read it. I could use a good laught.
Okay, I’ll read it. There’s also one here from a webmaster. This could get interesting. I’ll report back.

P.S. - Don’t worry David, you’re not really missing anything important. Sorry, can’t help you out with the pony  !

"A buddy emailed me a link directing my attention to this LSC thread. I hate to rain on your pity parade, but for the record, I haven’t edited or deleted anything of yours in quite some time. I’ll now be interested to see whether or not you’re as quick to post a public retraction in that thread.
Best Regards,
Dwight Ennis
MLS Moderator"
If you believe he didn’t open them, I have a bridge to sell you… especially since I sent it as an MLS PM - you know, the messaging system which pops up the annoying little message box every time you open a new forum page until you read the message? Brian last logged on to MLS today at 8:25 PM.
Think what you like about me, but I have NEVER publicly trashed ANY of you on ANY forum where I figured you couldn’t or wouldn’t defend yourselves. Such is the path of The Weasel, and there is no honor in it.
I have been accused of “abusive emails” among other things - I prefer to think of them as brutally honest, and ONLY after several rounds of attempted courtesy have completely failed. I have the emails. Like TOC, I keep everything - I simply don’t feel it worth it to publish them. As a rule I try to take the high road and ignore provocation.
I won’t be posting in this thread again. Those who really know me can make up their own minds. Those who have an ax to grind have made up their minds already. This is for those on the fence, and to demonstrate that there may come a day when a flame is posted in expectation of impunity and the truth shall expose the instigator for what they really are.
It’s a shame Bob allows this sort of nonsense. Think what you like about MLS, but we would NEVER allow such public flaming of LSC or it’s members on our site. You call it freedom, I call it libel.
Libel:
1 - anything that is defamatory or that maliciously or damagingly misrepresents.
2 - to misrepresent damagingly
I also call is dishonest, dishonorable, disingenuous, deceitful, and cowardly, (not to mention illegal).
One of the main reasons I don’t post on this forum is I don’t wish to cause Bob more trouble than he already has, nor do I wish to do here what I won’t allow done on the forum I moderate. However, this has been going on for years, and maybe it’s time to say something since no other means exists to correct the record and get the truth out.
Ralph Berg is the only guy in this thread with a reply containing any integrity. Kudos Ralph for having some character. The rest of you simply assume guilt and pile on without any facts whatsoever, and in some cases, based solely upon a personal grudge or a need to be part of a mob.
So pile on “gentlemen” and do what you do so well… lynch based upon supposition. Guess you’re read that email now, eh Brian?
Have fun with your trains folks! God knows the world could do with a bit more fun!
Dwight.
When I wrote "Brian. There is no one more childlike than the person to whom you refer. " I was not referring to you.
I was referring to the “childlike” person who was bashing the particular manufacturer in the MLS forum. That person has since edited his own thread to remove the insulting comments he had made.
Wow, this is funny!
Believe it or not, Dwight, I have a life that does not revolve around model trains.
I have yet to read the messages from you or Shad yet as I have more important s**t to deal with like idiot government employees putting a highway through my backyard and workshop and sheds.
I come to the online fora for a bit of fun diversion, so get over yourself. I really don’t care about it all that much.
Libel? How can it be libel if I did not mention anyone’s name or even the forum?
Let the fun begin!

Dwight,
Maybe you should hang out here more often. Then you could base your opinion about LSC on personal observation rather than second hand BS.
Lately things here are much more civil than the forum you call home.
What Bob allows is what you call “brutal honesty”.
It seems to me, you have done Bob a great injustice in your quote above.
No one libeled you, or mentioned you or MLS. Had you not responded I would have no idea about who, or what Brian was referring to.
As for flames, I think you fired off a few of your own.
In closing, I’d like to say I’ve seen LSC and it’s members trashed by name on MLS many times. Nothing is said by the Moderators.
I can’t say it’s never happened, but I’ve never seen MLS trashed here.
Ralph
Hmmmm so it’s: Dwight, the delight!
Funny how a particular person thought that we were talking about him??? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and swims like a duck, then guess what, it must be a duck!
He then makes a single posting to tell us he will not be posting again. He says that such criticism would not be allowed on MLS. Gee, I wonder why, could it have to do with the very strict moderating process? He of cause says that no one would be allowed to criticise another forum on his site and yet criticises this site. Do unto others, just do not do it to me, but it is OK for me to do it unto you, seems like the proverb of his existence.

BTW Dwight,
Whether Brian is right or wrong, IMHO you owe Bob a public apology.
You can go back on the forums here at LSC quite a ways and not find any of the bickering and bitching that has been going on at MLS lately.
And there certainly was no libel or slander.
Ralph

I must have been asleep at one of the switches sometime. What site is MSL or MLS or whatever it is? Can’t find it on the web. Just curious.
Dwight, it amazes me that you are now bashing this forum and its members when, according to what I’ve read, it seems as though the “insult” was not made at you?
My oh my, so now you’re trying to give everybody here a reason to be mad at you when there wasn’t one before(to the best of my knowledge)?
Rudy,
That would be My Large Scale.
Although I respond to posts there, I am much more comfortable here.
As the engineer of the flamming loco, I think you probably fit in here too.
You be the judge.

Mr. Ennis is a forum moderator over at mylargescale.com (mls for short), not that I’m saying that was the forum I was referring to in my original post.

This sort of reminds me of the great Coffee Cup Wars we had in Charleston back in the 60’s and 70’s.
Generally, topside Mid-Watch (0000-0400).
Topside watch would visually insure tide was out, and that there was another SSN (nuke sub) on the other side of the pier.
He would then call down to the Below Decks watch, have a dozen coffee cups brought up topside.
And fire the first salvo.
You have no idea, 0200, dead quiet, nobody around, and this white-with-blue-stripes US Navy porcelain coffee cup lands on the deck and explodes 4 feet from where you are standing.
Reciprocation!
Retaliation!
Escalation!
So, here we are, 0200, tide is out, so both boats are low with relation to the pier, and lobbing coffee cups over the top of the pier at each other.
“So, here we are, 0200, tide is out, so both boats are low with relation to the pier, and lobbing coffee cups over the top of the pier at each other.”
How true.
I don’t see anything I have said as “lobbing coffee cups” or “piling on” as Dwight put it.
Just the facts as I see it.
But I do see coffee cups flying both directions.
I’m just declaring my innocence

Sounds like the old Bill Cosby skit on the .45 shell in the forge in shop class.
Methinks thou protesteth too much.

That sounds a lot more fun than we had on the mid watch in port in Yokusuka our home port when we had LST’s tied four abrest at pier 5 just above the sub pier and drydock. Most officers on those floating shoe boxes were Reserve officers with no sense of humor at all back in 62-63.

Didn’t say you did.
Nice of you to prove me wrong about the bitching and bickering.
I guess you don’t understand the
Maybe in the future I’ll ask your permission to speak.

We used to do that with fire hoses during freshwater washdown after pulling in from sea (getting the detail stuff that didn’t show in binoculars as we passed 1-SD). Once, we got the skipper of the Braindamage as he walked out of the pilot house. We thought we were toast, until we learned that our skipper and Braindamage had been room mates at Canoe U.
