… Nürnberg (dpa/lby) - The former apparel enterpreneur and airline operator Hans Rudolf Wöhrl wants to invest 7.5 million Euro to preserve the battered model railway producer LGB and to keep the operation in Nürnberg. A commensurate offer has been submitted to the insolvency trustee for consideration by the lenders committee, reported Wöhrl’s investment company “Intro” on Wednesday in Nürnberg. The offer presents the last chance to rescue the venerable company with its 130 employees, since all earlier offers failed to find favour with the lenders. The takeover offer exoires on May 7th. “This is our last offer, we have exhausted all leeway.” said "Intro"s project manager Dietmar Langer who handles “Case LGB”. According to Langer’s statement the offer includes the demands of the banks in regards to the sale of the real estate and buildings. In addition further concessions were made and the necessary capital for a rapid start-up is at the ready. The offer has only been readied due to “the fact that many of the LGB employees not only approve a takeover by “Intro/LGBoA”, but are willing to support a “Franconian solution” in a substantive manner” reported “Intro”. However the company is running out of time. Only if production could be resumed during the month of May, would it be possible to fullfill customer’s wishes regarding the Christmas orders which are essential for survival.

My comment: OK that last paragraph reads like a page out of a book that could have been written by … . If you think back a few weeks in a certain interview there was the " the Christmas orders are going in early" (paraphrased) remark. Now who was that again? Let’s put it this way: Last Fall the “powers that were” at LGB, placed emphasis on the fact that they needed to get the Christmas production done etc. etc. It won’t be any different this year except LGBoA could loose out big time since the production/distribution would be very tight for NA. I guess one could have placed those orders at the Nürnberg Fair in February - with a bit of foresight and sharper wit. But there is a “Plan B”, isn’t there??

The rest will follow or by all means use Google or Babelfish.   From what some people tell us both do an “excellent job” at translating. Add-on: Here what the Nürnberger Nachrichten just published:

The last sheet anchor Wöhrl renews offer for insolvent LGB factory Nürnberg (Eig. nm) - The Nürnberger enterpreneur Hans Rudolf Wöhrl makes a last attempt to keep the venerable model railway producer alive by means of a “Franconian solution”. Through his investment company “Intro” he presented a further takeover offer to the insolvency trustee and the lenders committee, the offer expires on May 7th. According to the offer Wöhrl will set aside 7.5 million Euro for the preservation of production location Nürnberg. This would be the last chance to rescue the enterprise with its 130 employees, since the lenders didn’t approve any of the earlier offers… The investor also stated that this new offer was only arrived at since many LGB employees are not just supporting the takeover by Intro Management GmbH with their verbal support, but rather because they are supporting the "Franconian solution with their own contribution. Dietmar Langner, who is responsible for “Project LGB” at “Intro” commented: “It is very pleasing, that it isnot only the City of Nürnberg fighting for the preservation of the company, but the employees are also very positively engaged.” Precisely that persuaded Hans Rudolf Wöhrl to present a new offer. However, time is running out for LGB, since production is still idle. Only if production can be resumed in May, could the, for a survival vitally important, orders for the Christmas business be filled, explained Wöhrl. LGB petitioned for insolvency again at the end of April. The second time within a few month, after private investor Hermann Schöntag, who took the helm of the venerable company on January 1st 2007, tripped up on his own financial problems.

Comment: Same story, different words. It will be interesting to see, if Intro/LGBoA succeeds, how may employees will be working at Saganer 1-5 come Christmas 2007 and if they again will have to forego their Christmas bonus.

Yes - if you enjow reading an insane collision of different words and prases that make little or no collective sense whatsoever!

And…
The Nürnberger entrepreneur Hans Rudolf Wöhrl undertakes a last attempt to receive the steeped in tradition model railway manufacturer LGB nevertheless still with the help of a “Frankish” solution alive. Over its investment company Intro it put a further to the insolvency manager and the committee of creditors, to 7. May limited assumption offer forwards. Afterwards Wöhrl makes altogether 7.5 millions available € to the receipt of the enterprise at the location Nuremberg. This is the last possibility of saving the enterprise with its to approximately 130 coworkers after the creditors all preceding offers would not have agreed. As the investor continues to explain, this renewed offer only came off, because many LGB coworkers would not have only expressed themselves with words for an assumption by the Intro administration GmbH, but because they want to support this “Frankish solution” also by their own contribution. Dietmar Langner, responsible with the Intro for the project LGB explained for this in a report: “It is extraordinarily pleasing that the city Nuremberg does not only fight for the receipt of the enterprise, but that also the coworkers so positively bring themselves into this process”. Straight that has Hans Rudolf Wöhrl induced to deliver a new offer. However LGB the time runs away, because production still rests. Only if the manufacturing starts in May again, the customer’s requests for the “critical” Christmas business could be fulfilled, explain Wöhrl. LGB had set at the end of April for the second time within fewer months request to insolvency, after private investor Hermann had taken over beautiful day the tradition enterprise to 1 January 2007 from the first insolvency mass and then was gestolpert over own financial problems.

Other than Wohrl is making his last best offer…

…Anyone else care to translate the translation?

Vic,

Could it be that neither you nor I have our head screwed on right and that’s the reason those translations leave much to be desired.

Perhaps if we could start up the spin engines, things would look perfectly logical and comprehensible … alas… (where is that ^&#@%$*&^ button!!!).

Oncet upon a time, Mark Twain had his tale, “The Jumping Frog of Calevaras County” translated into French by the leading authority on that subject. Then he took that translation to another “leading authority” (just ask him) and had it translated back into English.

The result was hilarious, even better than Google or Babblefish. His original classic was not recognizable as the same story.

I came across it in a textbook for an American Literature course I took in college. I really enjoyed that course.
