Large Scale Central

And, wait until you see the ad on page 97

Train-Li:

“MasterLine RELIABLE switch drives…
These drives are made in Germany and are not the primitive imitations from China.”

This is gonna get interesting.

Okay, the roll call:
1 - Aristo-Craft
2 - USA
3 - Silver–?
4 - Marklin’s (LGB) shipment of turnouts – if it happened?

So who is making Train-Li’s track and switch machines?

MasterLine makes the switch machines and Axel brings them in.
Did you not see the threads on a certain company that copied them and had the unmitigated audacity to put “Patented” on them?

Please note:

That company is not mentioned here.

<<4 - Marklin’s (LGB) shipment of turnouts – if it happened?>>

Sure has. I bought a few 18000’s last week. Identical to LGB’s, but underneath the word “Lehmann” is gone.

<<Did you not see the threads on a certain company that copied them and had the unmitigated audacity to put “Patented” on them?>>

No. Where are these threads?

Blatent and crappy copy…

I’m finishing a page, not all the pictures are in, but you can see the difference between the real thing and the clone.

What, one company copying the ideas of another company.

Never!!!

Thanks, Greg!
Not that I would use these, but the cheap copy is a blatant attempt, like you say.
I don’t think Axel has a thing to worry about. Those copies will last prolly 6 months at best outdoors.

Why should it get interesting? :stuck_out_tongue:  I bought 10 of the Böhler WA1 machines and inspected the workmanship and materials, I wouldn’t even consider buying the Aristo imitation! BTW for those who use them with DCC and (heaven forbid) a ZIMO MX82 the following is the wiring scheme I use.

The DCC power I grab right from the rails of the turnout (just like for the other polarised frogs), just the two wires from the MX82V to run to the motor. BTW the WA1 sits on top of a 4mm baseplate - makes the mechanical connection as easy as pie - and that should keep it out of whatever water we get here in the Okanagan. Oh the MX82V? It powers two turnouts at each station, that’s all I need along the line, just the selection: main or passing siding. Everything else is handthrown.

BTW speaking of imitations, has anyone compared the PIKO turnout motors to the originals from LGB?

Greg,

You need to fix a few duplications and typing errors on that page. Other than that … did you send the link to Lewis?

How can it be quality if the end user has to seal it up himself for outside use?
That’s what Polk said to do.

Perhaps AC is concentrating their marketing efforts somewhere else now, but a quick perusal of the mag did not reveal any ads from AC extolling the virtues of their “New” REVOLUTION R/C system.

Now I wonder why that is?

Spending all their capital copying and patenting prior art?

Nothing left for the ad campaign?

Looks like it’s time for Moe, Larry and Crumurly to burn Aristo at the stake…
guess Aristocraft is the target of the week now!

Hey Marvin, how’s your railroad?

Ever seen one of the Böhler switch machines from the inside? I call that nifty engineering.

More like imagineering.
The other thing is a just a poorly executed copy.

OK, added some more of the pictures I was sent and cleaned up some grammer, etc…

Grammar…still has a somewhat Armenian flavour to it…

Spelling and grammar.
Are you sure you ain’t Stanley in drag?

hahahahaha

I think there are a few more pictures, but you are getting the gist… and you don’t like my dress TOC? What’s wrong with pink satin? Sheesh!

Greg
