Large Scale Central

An unusual passenger consist

We rode this one yesterday–an ex GN GP-9 pulling five ex B&M RDC’s:

This is the “Charlie Russel Chew Choo,” a dinner train out of Lewistown, Montana running on Central Montana Rail trackage. Good food, western entertainment (including train robbery, shoot-out, and necktie party) and convivial company. Great fun. http://www.montanadinnertrain.com/ Steve Fine print: Not responsible for the corny name. Departs from the middle of nowhere in Montana, runs 26 miles to the other middle of nowhere (also in Montana) and returns. Food reputed to be hazardous to the waistline. Upon request, train robbers distribute counterfeit seven-dollar bills to passengers at gunpoint. Western entertainers sing mostly on-key. Passengers frequently succumb to helpless laughter. Yes, those really are RDC’s, but they are “demotorized.” Your mileage may vary, but your car WILL require washing when you get back to civilization.

Steve,
Sounds like you had a good time.
That is my kind of train ride, especially the
part about leaving and arriving in the middle of nowhere.
