Last I read , they may not be coming on track soon, they delivered the first batch without the proper certifications and without inspections and tests on some components. Amtrak is working thru the issues and things they didn’t like or order on them , details may be wrong , but going off Old memory on article I read earlier this year in TRAINS magazine

That’s ok Pete as I’m getting to old to go that fast anyway. Done it before on the turnpike but the problem is you have to sit at a rest stop for about an hour before getting off the turnpike as they clock between toll booths.

Great shot, Jim!

I wonder where that bridge is? Over the Susquehanna?

Here’s a few videos related to the new electric Acela.

Doesn’t look like the ones I know.

Jim’s photo is a delivery run/haul from Alstrom to the Amtrak yard in PA (?) I think, where all the sets are stored. Look closely and you’ll see an Amtrak baggage coupled in front of the leading loco of the set.

How funny, thanks for pointing that out Pete.

It’s northeast because of the Viewliner in the consist. I think it’s Portage Viaduct in letchworth state park in NY

I was going to say that, but wasn’t certain. It looks right for that location.

I’m positive that’s the replacement bridge.
