AMS Cable Car

I have not been very impressed with the 2 electricly powered Accucraft products I have so far, they seem high on price for what you actually get, operationally and detail level, you would think for a $300 list item the Cable car could have better detailed cable grab-levers in the cab and only one drive brick? from what I understand it may not run at all on my steep grades, and while I am very forgiving on the level of detail of my Casey Jr and quite pleased with its overall look, for the money initially asked for it, the cheesy and poorly functioning plastic trailing wheels under the tender leave much to be desired as does the motor set up, which is very noisy, and mine arrived with the siderod screws bound so tightly to the wheels that when I tried to test run it, the wheels binded and the motors brass worm tore thru the soft nylon gear on the drive axle before I could even turn the power off. Luckily I was able to swap the drivers and get it running again, but I am going to be very wary of anything (if anything) electric powered I buy from them from now on.

Vic,
I have three Geese from the manufacturer that due shipping mishaps and subsequent problems (not with the manufacturer), the Geese (a #2, a #5 and a black #7) sit in their respective boxes. I do not remove them as it brings back certain memories which I wish to keep in the past. Several thousands of dollars sitting in the dark, unused. Cliff, at Accucraft, was very helpful with attempting to correct the damage inflicted by initiating authority for repairs to be carried out, but alas it came to no joy (no fault of Accucraft). While the product is not in any way at fault, my feelings were soured from the moment I opened the boxes. These things are so beautifully packed and protected, that it would require a football match to inflict damage to the contents (but it happened and on all three Geese shipped to me!).

Dear Tim,

Have you initiated a damage claim with the shipper?

Sincerely,

Joe Satnik

Joe,
the incident was several years ago and many are familiar with USPS’s attitude towards honouring shipping claims.
