Hi can anyone please tell me the tread size, wheel diameter and axle tip to axle tip length of a AML wheel set say off the 50’ hi cube boxcar?

Not sure if this helps or not, but KD offers really nice rolling stock trucks and wheels in 1:29 scale. Maybe worth a look?

Any idea how the AML wheels compare in scale to the those used by USATrains or Bachman?

Unfortunately the only AML wheels I own are under the GP 60s. Ì do own a several Accucraft covered hoppers, but they all ride on Aristo-craft roller baring trucks. I do recall seeing an old web article on wheel and truck accuracy of various manufacturers in 1:29 scale posted somewhere, and am trying to find it for you. But no luck as of yet. I can say that from what I can tell most large scale equipment running on G scale track with the exception of some exact to scale 1:32 models, all run on wheels relatively scale in diameter but feature somewhat deeper flanges and a wider tread profile then scale. I imagine it was more about outdoor functionality than prototypical accuracy where the wheels and tracks meet. Not really sure though. I do however live in a community with a lot of garden and yard railroads, and might be able to hunt down someone with AML trucks and wheels. Any thing I can do to help!
