Large Scale Central

AML Dreyfuss Hudson News

Nick reports (from his conversation with Cliff,) that they don’t have enough orders to proceed with the Dreyfuss Hudson. http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/20742/great-quot-ofiicical-quot-news

Another 4-5 year wait for a loco shown at ECLSTS and Cabin Fever and originally advertised as “Available Fall 2013”.

We should get Accucraft to put a graphic on the page, like the fundraisers do, saying
----->“65% of goal” . :wink:

Yes Pete its true. Actually partially, it will be a live steam in 1:32 instead and looking to rework the 1:29 into just electric as they had not done a electric prototype.

Ok, Jason,

Could you decipher that? Are you suggesting the live steam loco will be 1/32nd instead ? And there will be a 1/29th Electric version only?

If so, I am very disappointed. I don’t want an alcohol-fired 1/32nd loco. I ordered a 1/29th scale butane fired loco, and accumulated a consist of 1/29th sale NYC heavyweights to go with it.

The LS version I saw last year a the National convention was suppose to have been going to production according to Bing. How fast things change. Later RJD

Not really. Standard mode for Accucraft is to announce a model, produce a prototype (sometimes) and wait until there are enough orders before committing to production.
The way to get your loco into production is to guarantee the first run - maybe 25 or 50 locos.

AND sorry to add, at the bottom of all their adds (as in SiTG)

ITEMS SUBJECT TO CHANGE IN PRICE, COLOR, SPECIFICATION DESIGN AND ‘AVAILABILITY’ WITHOUT NOTICE.

Pete, for what little it’s worth, I would have done the same as you, invest in a consist EXPECTING it to be made since the deposit was in place and the pilot model was displayed.

Hoping in the future like the EBT loco it will rear it’s ‘BEAUTIFUL’ head again in the future and be produced.
