American Flyer 1930s O Gauge Clockwork set For Sale

My neighbor is clearing out her old stuff and asked me to help sell her old Xmas train set. It is a 1930s vintage O gauge American Flyer set with a clockwork engine and some accessories.

The loco is in good working order:

The coaches are similar to a set I found on eBay, consisting of an #1107 coach, Observation (#1108?) and an RPO. The Obs and RPO just say “American Flyer Lines”.

The accessories include a station, clock (maybe missing a hand) and two arm signal, plus a crossing ‘kit’ which includes two working barriers, wig-wag, two-light warning sign, and a sign.

There is an oval of track in remarkably rust-free condition.

Here’s the kicker. Some years ago she wrote to an auction house who offered her $200 for the set. I think her expectations are set.

Pete,

Despite ‘final offer’ the set is still available !

(Noel - Let me know who those TCA people are - they don’t let you in to their club without a sponsor.)

Pete,

You may have to find a member around Annapolis. I don’t know anyone who is a member.

Noel.

Noel,

The set is actually in Florida, where I spend my winters. There are a few TCA types here too - retired like me!

Pete,

Seriously I will give her $250 for it if she does not get a better offer.

Sent the check to the lady today.
