American Diorama Building Outside?

Does anybody have any experience with American Diorama buildings and people outdoor? In the pictures these products look nice but I wonder how they survive the conditions outside. You cannot buy these products in Canada so it is not possible for me to feel and smell them

Henk

I’ve never even heard of them.

I just googled it and found their site. No mention on the website of whether their products can be used outdoors, but you could email them and find out.

I’m always miffed by retailers, sellers, etc, who do not list they’re prices!! Guy once told me that if prices aren’t listed they are not for sale!! Or it also signals to me that there are different deals depending on who you are, or how much you buy!! I know quantity makes a difference but I hate to have to email and wait for a response to see how much something is!! I’m still waiting on another well known retailer for at least an estimate on shipping for an item that has now gone off sale by 24+ days! Oh well guess he had so much business he didn’t need anymore! Hah LOL Says in their site they will be in some booth and that was in 09??? Regal

Hi Ray,

I did that and on the web site it says (not too clearly) that the products (poly resin) are for indoor and outdoor. I just wanted to know if somebody had any real experience.
The lack of reactions to my posting shows that you are not alone. Not many people seem to know these products. Have a look at www.americandiorama.com.

Henk

I’ve seen the figures and accessories on feebay and at train shows… but never really paid all that much attention because they were about twice what I was willing to pay. If somebody wants to send me a sample I’ll let it sit outside on my layout for a year and report back

I know a seller of this product here in Canada. The buildings don’t all arrive in one piece. They are fragile and about $90 each. He has been unsure about carrying the figures. Dennis.

Hi Dennis,

Do you have the name of that retailer?
American Diorama just confirmed that some customers on the US east coast left the buildings outside in the winter with no problems.

Thanks,

Henk

BTW, Henk…
