I have no words, except “Holy Cow!”

Yes absolutely super modeling. I doubt that it will end up in the garden.

wow! The weathering he does is amazing!

I believe there was an article in Modeler’s Annual about that very same building. Though the write-up wasn’t as extensive.

I added it to my favorites. I like his techniques for weathering.

Something to aspire too!

Beautiful, but I’m not sure if modeling that good inspires or deters me :o

There is a lot of good modeling on the rest of his site, too,

An amazing talent, he is a frequent contributor to the Westlake forum. You can see his current country store project here: http://www.finescalerr.com/smf/index.php?topic=1571.0

I’ve seen it before as well. Always enjoy looking at fine art…but have no interest in doing it. I’m much happier pulling weeds and keeping the plants in the RR looking good.

Chuck’s modeling is truly amazing, though definitely not for outdoors. I’m a big fan of his work and find it very inspiring.

Whew, I got tired just reading about how he done it. Like Ken, I saw this model and other examples of Chuck’s work in Finescale. Beautiful. But strictly a showcase piece and not to be used as a lineside structure, but strictly as a museum piece. Along those lines (fine modeling), how many of our guys have the guts to take a building, car, or loco and make them look like they’ve been neglected like the real ones were? Mostly what we see are garishly painted structures, rolling stock and automobiles (many with whitewall tires which were a rarity in the 1920s and such) looking like they were just built or just rolled off the assembly line. And let’s not forget all those figures still attached to their mounting bases.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I loved my Lionel tinplate trains.

Much of his work wouldn’t survive the outdoors bur I do admire what he has done. Absolutely amazing!
