Amazing Canada Post/Canada

Last week, I emole Roger Leigh in Ontario, asking for him to send me a replacement door handle for a set of three Northern Fine Scale ‘Birdcage’ Gauge 1 coaches I’m building for a pal here in yUK.

Of course, I’d forgotten that Roger was over here in yUK for the Gauge 1 association AGM and show, so another friend here in yUK, who had a trade stand there took the necessary Canadian funds to pay him directly, while Roger’s mrs, Jean, took care of mailing me the missing item[s], a lost-wax/cire-perdue casting of a loop-style door handle and ‘L’ grab-iron, in brass.

Imagine, then, my amazehoodshipness to get the items in this morning’s mail! Posted on 22 October, and here today - unheard of service in these here rural parts.

I thought about writing Canada Post/Canada and saying a big thankyou, but decided agin it - the way the mail is here in yUK they’d be lucky to get it by Easter, maybe.

Hmmm, I see that part of my text is struck through again.

Why should this happen?

The Post Office Spies gotcha ?

Mike

maybe you use (s) (/s) instead of (u) (/u) for underlining?

Canada Post is absolutely “amazing” e.g it will take one day to get a letter from Vancouver to Vernon , but up to three days to get a letter through their local delivery (Vernon to Vernon). And yes, we love them very dearly (not), especially the top management (aka mucky-mucks) in Ottawa, who apparently believe that increasing postage rates and decreasing services will dig them out of the hole they dug themselves.

BTW so far all my regular bills - hydro, credit cards, telephone etc. along with magazine subscriptions - still arrive by mail and will as long as they maintain house to house delivery.

If ya hit the “quote” button you see an [ s ] after “item”…me thinks that is what the cause is…

Yep, that is the stuff that fixes most computer problems.

I guess its a good thing that this is not a computer problem, then.

I’m amazed…

I ordered something in california and it came the next day…

I ordered from amazon one morning and it came the SAME day!

That is even more amazing than Canada…

The next revision will actually anticipate your purchase and will deliver it before you actually know you want it.

Now that is amazing/Amazon

Greg

So, why can’t FedEx find my house then? :stuck_out_tongue:

Greg,

That will only work when you wear Google glasses and Amazon/Google becomes a common entity.
