All "pomped op" for my soon-to-be birthday

Next Friday’s my birthday, so my wife said,“Why don’t you buy yourself something nice?” Well, “something nice” is really a Porsche 911 Carrera, but I don’t think $84,300 would pass muster with our VISA card, although we would collect a whole bunch of frequent flier miles.

So I bought myself a Campbell-Hausfeld air compressor–2 gallon, 110 psi max–for $49.95 at Sears, on sale Friday and Saturday only. It’s no giant killer, but it’s better than a similar Micromark compressor I bought sometime ago, and is kinda disabled with a non-functioning pressure cutoff switch (danger, danger!). A year or so ago, I Googled pressure switches, but couldn’t find one that matched my compressor, which like most things today, is made in China by underpaid workers who live in company dormitories where they get so depressed they want to kill themselves. Oh wait, that’s Apple.

Anyway, I can’t wait to debox it (every word is being turned into a verb these days) and give 'er a test run on my two-story house, another work in progress. Heck, with 110 lbs on tap, I’ll be I could spray spackle.

Can you buy the Porsche, get the miles, then sell the Porsche?

Happy Birthday…

Well - Happy birthday Joe! Hope you have fun with the compressor. I have it’s bigger brother (4 gallon maybe) and it’s been one of the best investments I ever made. Originally purchased so I could power wet sand a boat with an air sander but since I’ve added a wide variety of nailers from pin up to framing. I also have a two gallon accessory tank that I charge with it and use to power the pin nailer or the air brush in the house.

Joe,

I have been combining two smaller compressors (the compressor died on the larger tank unit), you can have the extra pressure switch if you are interested.

Happy Birthday Joe!!!

With that dandy new compressor you can go out and tag freight cars in mass with your birthday sig.

Can I come???

Dan, why didn’t I think of that? Bob, thanks for the offer but I’m not sure I’d know how to install it, since that’s where my problems began in the first place–when I poked around the broken switch. Richard, tagging freight cars sounds cool, but we’ll need a reaa-lly long extension cord. David, of course you can come if ya bring the paint. And a cake.

Happy Birthday Joel. Don’t worry about extensions. Roosters is right next to the tracks

Joel Who??

Dang old guys

Bad vision is to blame. We posted Joe ! with no space. To us half blind old farts that exclamation point looks like an L.

My bad! Happy Birthday Joe

No problem, Dave. And thanks. BTW, the reason I am piddling away my time working on posts about Sears for LSC is that I’m at my computer where I am supposed to be writing my for-money story, which is too much like work. Frankly, I wanta be finishing my two story house project (The Precision Plastic shingles arrived today), but I would get killed if I even went near my “job site.”
