All New RailBoss 4

I am pleased to announce the all new RailBoss 4. Three years in the making, this system is based on an industrial 2.4GHZ radio system with range as good or better than the Spektrum radios used with the Hobby RailBoss Plus system. It features a 6-button contoured transmitter that is the perfect size for the palm of your hand or stuffing in a pocket. The ESC and Receiver are integrated into one board about the size of the present RailBoss Plus boards. All of the traditional RailBoss Plus functions are there; automated station stops, low battery warning system, and of course excellent speed control.

That looks great and should win over some of the folks who didn’t like the two-stick radios. But for me, I’m used to the two-stick and really don’t mind it at all. In fact, I rather like them.

Don’t worry Jon. The Hobby RailBoss isn’t going away. It is definitiely very popular.

Thanks Del!

Is Hobby RailBoss just a new name for the Railboss Plus (which replaced the Enhanced board) or has there been another revision?

EDIT: Never mind. Looking at your website I see that “Hobby” is used to designate the line of products that use the 2-stick hobby radio and there are different levels of boards within that line; the RailBoss Plus being one of them.

Lots of things you can do with Digital Proportional radios that you cannot do with pushbuttons.

e.g. control the Kadee servo based uncoupler for one. You simply plug them in. No extra programming required with Del’s or my ESC’s.

Just a comment about your web site. The script font you use is very elegant but my tired old eyes have areal problem reading it. I do wear glasses but they are not Coke bottle bottoms.

For whatever it’s worth.

Hey Charley - Sorry to hear about your problem, but it’s the first complaint I’ve ever had. I don’t use a script font. The font is Tahoma, which is a very bland and common san-serrif font that should be easily converted by any web browser. Which browser are you using? If anyone else has observed this problem, I would sure like to fix it. Please let me know.

I don’t know what Charley’s problem is. I see the Tahoma font and it is easily scalable with most browsers (zoom function). I did find that your file of the GR Review of the Enhanced RailBoss seems to be corrupt: http://1stclass.mylargescale.com/DelTapparo/railboss_product_review.pdf

Charley’s Problem (sounds like a switching puzzle, but it really was.)

I clicked your link and saw:

(http://freightsheds.largescalecentral.com/users/ccsii/photos/Funny font.jpg)

Then, when I switched from my iPad to my MacBook, everything was hunky dory (always wanted to use that in a post.)

So, no problem.

Sorry

Charley

So if you just take the P out of iPad and the C out of MacBook, you will see the solution to all of your problems. PC (Well at least some of them).

Fixed the link Jon. Thanks.

Edit: This is still a legitimate problem. If any of you web designers know how I could fix this ???

Del, it is script font for me as well, using Firefox… Far from Tahoma.

Normal Tahoma with IE. Go figure…

I didn’t spend a lot of time on it, and I’m a long way from being a web coder but just by scanning the code for that page there is an IF statement that might be trouble… onload=“if(IE||V5) OnWeLoad()”

Since IE 5 has been gone a long time the browser specific code n the site are probably broken. You might try regenerating the page with the current version of Avanquest.

Also sorry to add that I still can’t open that GR review. Still says file corrupt.
