Algae as bio-fuel

In January of this year, at a meeting of the Engineers Club of Sun City, Arizona. A.P.S. ( the local power company) gave a presentation in which they explained their plans to build such a plant south of Phoenix, below Gila Bend. They were very upbeat about it’s possibilities. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Take a look at this video and pay particular attention to the very last statement made by the spokesman.

This has real possibilities! But whose backyard do we build the plant in?

Mine as long as I can have a job there at union scale. Minimum wage sure isn't a living one (especially at $3.60+/gal gas to GET to work)

I’ve got 8 acres I will lease, too!

I own a diesel 2002 4x4 Crew Cab F250, I’m up for any help…even thinking of home brewin’ if I could just afford the processor…

I can’t get that link to work.

I can get this link;

http://cc.pubco.net/www.valcent.net/i/misc/Vertigro/index.html

to work just fine.

It came from this posting;

by Ric Golding on Aug 13.

Are they the same clip?

Yes Tony,
They are the same clip.
Ralph

Steve SUNY Environmental Science And Forestry here in Syracuse are actually creating biofuels from the kitchen
as well as an algea project, almost the entire fleet of vehicles on campus are now alternative fuels. They also are a leader in biomass technology, Which are all poving to be “doable”

Right now they are transforming the butter sculpture that was at the NY state fair to bio diesel!!

The butter sculpture??? Say it isn’t so! :stuck_out_tongue:

What I found most interesting about that video was the guy’s statement that if he could take 10% of the State of New Mexico, he could…yada yada yada… I know, I know, a little bit here, a little bit there, and pretty soon you have enough algae ponds. I just thought it was funny.

Steve, didn’t you see it the first time round when Ric posted the link on Aug 13th?

See what?

Steve.

I know you can read, so, if you scroll back and click on the links I posted to Ric’s posting you will see the same video clip, albeit with a url different to your link, he linked to on the 13th of Aug.

In other words you have posted the exact same video as Ric did. :wink:

Gee. Have I committed another sin? I’ll fall on my sword tomorrow.

One does what one has to do.

You ought to know

Steve.

With respect you would do well to pay more attention to what other people have written on the same subject.

Then you wouldn’t look so foolish posting the same thing again.

And you won’t look so foolish making such a big deal of it.
