Airwire question

I am working on a pair of usa trains f3’s. I would like to power them from 1 airwire board. Is this possible?

Can,t see why not Todd. I ran a Cow and Calf combo with one board.

Like Rod, Todd… I’ve done the same thing… The board should run 2 F3’s just fine.

Thanks fellas for the replies. I think I am going to do it.

Boomer- I keep you advised. I think It will be a while. I am going to custom paint a B&m f unit. I already have Stan doing a decal job so this will be the next one.

Aren’t the AirWire boards rated in watts? not just max voltage and current?

I seem to remember their amp rating was at 12 volts for the 10 amps, and people were exceeding the wattage capability.

Paul Burch gave you a simple and concise answer over on the MLS forum. Paul has a great deal of experience with AirWire products.

I saw that too, wonder what the wattage is on the newer AirWire units?

Greg

Per “the book,” the G3 is rated for 8 amps at 15 volts, so 120 watts.

So, like Lionel, we are now rating stuff in watts? Watts up p with that?
