Airwire G4 problem

Hi guys,
As has been mentioned elsewhere, I am building a Grande M-67 from various bits of Aristo debris. Back in December I had the G4 decoder installed and had the front class lights and the headlight working. Now that I am able to work on the model again, they don’t work. Exasperating!

My understanding is that to activate the headlight you press the red function key on the T5000 transmitter then press 0. For class lights, press red function key then press 9.

Does anyone have any guidance? Airwire is not my strong suit!

Thanks,
Matt

Matt,

to activate the headlight just press “0” no other key necessary to my knowledge.

Thanks Al. I tried that, still no luck.

For the record, I am using Miniatronics incandescent 16 volt lamps, so there’s no polarity or resistor issues.

If you had the transmitter on before the receiver being on, the frequency of the receiver may have reset to zero.

Hi Jim,
All of the other functions work (whistle, bell, etc.). Would those still work if the frequency had been rest to zero?

Thanks,
Matt

No, so the frequency didn’t change.

Matt,

at this point i would go back and verify your wiring. it is possible the wire came loose in the terminal block on the board, and while you are in there test function directly off the board. beyond that you may have a CV setting that got changed. there are a lot of fancy lighting options with the new board, many designed for Diesels.

like i said testing directly off the board may be your best next step.

Matt,
Mail be direct if you are still having trouble. Sounds more like operator error to me!

No doubt! I’ll check my wiring next.
