Airwire G3 in my Accucraft c-19

So I have a new G3 in my Accucraft c-19 with a tsunami c-19 sound decoder and a T5000 controler and I’m having problems.

The biggest one is that when switching directions the sound cuts out, and sometimes It wont move. This will happen with or without a train. I stop the loco hit the button for revers still has sound, but as soon as I move the throttle the sound will cut out. Most times it will come back in a few seconds, sometimes it wont and I have to turn it off then back on. This used to happen only when reversing but now it will do it when I change any direction. The last time it happened I removed my coal load to look at the electronics and I saw smoke coming off the G3 board. I determined it was coming from the transistors (And they were HOT) next to the batt and motor terminals. Nothing else is getting hot on the G3. What ca be causing this?

Other issues I have are some of my CV functions not working. #3 is the worst, Its set up as the short whistle. Most times it will keep blowing short blasts till I hit the button again, other times it wont do anything.

I also had an issue with the sound cam and chuff. It has the factory cam on the #2 driver. It was not chuffing properly, sometimes double chuffing or scipping a chuff. I was running it and noticed that when I fallowed it it was more accurate. So I did a test walking next to it it was fine but walk away or hold the throttle behind me and the chuff would go bad. Last time I ran it I switched frequencies and it seemed to solve that problem but I makes me wonder how could that have effected the chuff?

Thanks for the reply Boomer. Ill check the voltage.

The factory chuff works best, we tried reed switches but we could not synk them up. I also have a fan driven smoke unit that has to be synked with chuff to puff at the right time.

Ill call CVP this week.

Yeah, the smoke from the board is never a good sign. Also make absolutely sure your connection from the G3 and the Tsunami is correct.

Jeff, you know where you can get local help…
