What is different is to VIEW those forums, it says you have to log-in.

Now, I’ve saved that, in case it gets changed, but how many Garden Railroad forums do you need to register and log into to just VIEW?

Ever try to even get to the Members list to send an e-mail without being logged in?

There is a problem!

Had a call from a friend about an hour ago who didn’t believe me at first.

So, he logged out and tried.

I’m just wondering what IP’s in Idaho he’s trying to catch.

Anybody can use a Proxy Server if they know how.

I am reminded of a “Church” in Kansas that likes to protest at Military Funerals, with cameras rolling, just to get somebody to hit them in the nose, then sue their asses off and use the money for their cause.

One wonders, sometimes aloud, why a person who several here have had serious issues with would even bother.

Yep, I’m still a moderator over at myLargescale.com (hmmm, guess you must gave forgotten the name…otherwise you wouldn’t have had to use such a childish reference!) But like I said…over here I am a Forum participant and I will NOT discuss or explain MLS operations.

Selective memory, too. Well I complimented you on the nice weathering job and then asked what happened to the valve/running gear on that LGB Mogul.
BTW I don’t need to compliment myself, I leave that to friends and customers. In the first case I appreciate them and in the second case they also pay me for my work.

You have no idea of how many chuckles, snickers and laughs the “Mighty Large Soap” handle gets. As with any good moniker, there are no explanations required, those who read there know exactly what’s up. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

There are even people on MLS who always appreciated my acerbic little side jabs, OTOH some of the targets were mighty sore and evidently still are. :wink: :smiley: :smiley: There were others who didn’t get sore, they simply didn’get it at all.

My take on all of this………

When the dookie hit the fan on MLS it was explained or suggested that TOC (Dave G.) was the “Bad Guy” and he was Immediately Bastardized. Soon after folks began asking him to come back…I missed him, his post, his knowledge and wit, but understood his position and respected that… (I had found him on LSC-which by the way was the 1st ever LS Train site I found-thanks Tiny P).

Dave and other regulars from MLS have since relegated themselves and their opinions almost exclusively to LSC, ……and now to have someone (though everyone is welcome as I understand) from MLS (a moderator none the less) come over and start tossing bombs, kinda suprises me…

…without a moderator title or a certain set of Rules to comply with all Heck spews forth, and for what…?

…If I ran a LS Train Website(or any business-and I do) and one of my “mods/ volunteers /employees” went over to another Site/Business, etc…as a casual member or pedestrian and began showing His Fanny, I’d seriously begin to question if that gent needed to continue to represent my establishment whether by title or name or affiliation.

T.C. I don’t know you or harbor any Ill Will against you, but your tactics for coming in with a bang, in my opinion, are quite tasteless…

Darryl…you have not been privy to all the slurs and crap that I and others have endured over on ?that other site". Say what you will, I am only giving back to those who perpetuated the much of the grief and discord over there…and to me personally. I have said in the Forum, 'Treat me with respect, and you’ll get the same (from me)!"

Go back and check all the little nicknames - “Kremlin Troll”, “Twit” and so forth that have been put forth in just the past few days. Oh, yeah, include “Town Commie” into that as well. I must only assume that you condone the use of those appellations but not when I use similar names.

HJ… It’s none of our damned business how or why the forum owner chooses to operate. We’re merely volunteers who willingly put our necks on the line to take crap from folks who don’t like rules. Who’s to say he hasn’t told us? Do you really think we’d blab to the entire world? Get real!

TOC… You don’t get it… there are lots of forums where you have to log in JUST TO READ THEM. It’s fairly common, and becoming more so. Do you log in and out every time you click onto LSC? No! Your computer remembers you’re still logged in, and brings you right into the site. MLS does the same thing. SO, you log on once, and never, ever have to worry about it again–to read, post, advertise, flame, whatever!

My suggestion–take a walk outside in your back yard with a stogie in one hand and a remote control in the other. A bit of train chasing should get the twist out of your knickers.

Hey , chaps , I am fairly neutral in this with regard to personalities who appear HERE .
I used to use MLS , and I took a peek there today and some of the names there appear over here too .
I did not log in to read the posts , I would have had to to post though .
There are some nice chaps over there . Mostly they are the same ones that are here as well . Perhaps there’s a reason–maybe the venting of steam not being allowed over there on MLS .
I can understand the very strong views expressed by some here . But regrettably , they are based on some lack of knowledge of all the facts . Nobody except the site owner ,Shad , knows the ruling placed on his moderators . It can be argued though that some of them seem to relish the (supposed ) power . That , I believe , is where the real root of the problem lies , for there is no appeal allowed against one man’s judgement . One case in which I personally got a rocket only came about because I criticised a dear friend . In retrospect , when the bloke had time to think , I got the impression that he regretted it . If he didn’t , he’s a prat .
So , entertaining though this all is --we all stop to watch a punch-up , don’t we–
don’t lets all get involved , and live to regret it . I sense the steam pressure is winding down a bit , so let’s not heap more coal on the fire . There’s going to be the odd blast ,blowing down the cylinders , but that should really be all , don’t you think ? Come on chaps , let’s get on with the thing we all do best–ogle at other peoples’ layouts . None of you are getting anywhere , nor are you getting any younger–so don’t behave like you are .

Memories: the day Shad decided to do the first big SW upgrade… as Dave would say HOLY BAT-POOP there were all kinds of people having all kinds of problems. I helped at least three or four of them to get back on the forum by telling them, get this browser (from … site), choose these settings and it will work.
