Chevy and Caddie will be the only survivors…
According to NBC news, anyway.
Not my prediction.
Obama Orders Chevrolet and Dodge Out Of NASCAR - Car News
With their racing budgets deemed “unnecessary expenditures,” GM and Chrysler are ordered to cease racing operations at the end of the season.
No Nascar? Oh thats gonna hurt!
But I can see the point of it, even GMs new CEO says they are close to doing the Big Hindenburg, cant keep paying the band to play when the ships going down…
Holy Crap ! The beginning of the End.
This is what happens when the government steps in and tries to micromanage private industry.
Hand out trillions to the banks that caused the problems while dogging the victims.
Save $250 million combined between Chevy and Dodge. And give up how much exposure every Saturday and Sunday?
Force GM to shutter Buick? Smart move. Shutter the division that just topped Lexus in quality and reliability surveys. A division that sells more cars in emerging markets such as China than anyone else.
Force GM’s CEO to resign. A man that was working for $1 a year and knows the company inside out. He started at an entry level position and spent the last 30 years at GM. Who knows the company better?
Replace him with an administration kiss ass that on the first day runs his mouth causing GM stock to lose half its value in one day. A man that will make at least $1.3 million, as he is refusing to work for $1 a year.
Meanwhile the CEO’s of banks and financial institutions that caused the problems for us all still have their jobs.

I wanted to say that later in the day.
I think GM’s main problem isn’t that they’re not making cars I’d buy, just that I can’t buy anything.
HAve to wonder, if the original story was so completely plausable…Why is this a joke? the way things are at GM I’d expect this later this year if not now.
BTW if Toyota and Honda can make inroads into good’ol’boy Nascar, dont count Hyundai out either, all in the realm of possibility
Ride in this GM monster for a while. Stay with her 'till the end.

The first part: Chevvy and Caddie isn’t a joke.
David’s is an AF joke.
But having said that, it’s entirely possible that they could pull out of racing.
Anything can happen.

50 lashes with a wet noodle for you.
At 5:30am I am doing good to know the day…much less the date.

Three words… Electro Motive Diesels
EMD is no longer owned by GM.
Sold in 2005 to Greenbriar Equity Group LLC and Berkshire Partners LLC.
I believe Berkshire Partners would be Warren Buffett and Co.
