Mike,
That thing is GREAT! I sure could use it to reach over my fence and take care of my neighbors offending 30 foot tall hedges next to my railroad. Do you think I could rent one at the local equipment rental store?
The Wife says “we need one of those!” Now what is she thinking? The RR or a couple of trees in our yard?

They’ll do anything for money , so sell tickets to your neighbours for the pleasure of watching .
That way you’ll offset costs----in fact , you may even make a profit .

Our state DOT has these. Every few years they run it down the local 2-lane country roads and shred the heck out of anything that hangs into the ROW. Looks like hell for about 2 years later. Then on odd years they come through with defoliant spray and turn everything 5 feet back from the road brown. Sure goes a long way toward furthering the “beautiful New England” mystique!
That first one gives clear cut a new meaning. The land is mulched and ready for planting.

I have no wish to interfere in marital relations , but I’d keep a sharp eye on her and do some phone tapping just in case it’s ordered by phone . Pull the plug out of the computer and hide it skilfully . One never knows , does one ? If it is being ordered surreptitiously , it’s a bad omen .

The destructive force of that thing is scary.
Imagine one big enough wielded by an evil Transformer or some other devious alien race using it to shred sky scrapers! They could clear an entire city to rubble in a day.
Sell the idea to Hollywood , Todd .Money in it .

J, M & J batman !!! That is one hell of a machine. No more climbing. No worries about where the tree is going to fall. Instant mulching. I have to give the designers of some of these machines credit. The machine itself is amazing but the engineering that went into it is more so.
Holy carp!
I’m reminded of the old Euell Gibbons quote: “Ever eat a pine tree?”
Yikes. That thing looks crazy dangerous.
But I think we’d need a larger version to tackle the pines around the layout. Video trees were all relatively thin by comparison.
A machine like that for California Redwoods would be quite something .

Thanks for the thought Mike, but I really don’t have the need for it.
