Adhesive for lexan

Can anyone recommend a suitable glue for laminating lexan? I’m looking for something that melts/fuses, like how MEK works on polystyrene.

Hi Scott, Welcome to LSC.

I’m retired from the sign business and we used a lot of polycarbonate of which Lexan is a brand.

Professionally we used two products purchased from sign suppliers. One was simply called “ResiBond”. I don’t recall the manufacturer. Another was a Sci Grip Weldon product Acrylics #16

Personally I have used MEK with good results. If you have that on hand, try with some Lexan scraps.

REAL MEK and REAL Acetone will work. The substitutes don’t work as well. The biggest issue with laminating any sheet plastic is getting any trapped air out. Small enough size can be dealt with a linoleum roller.

I agree. Professionally we would use dispense the water thin products with a blunt syringe at one edge. Capillary action spread it between the pieces.
