I would like to get R C in my Forney, but I’m totally blown away by it.
It just makes me ???
It can’t be too difficult if Shawn got it done
LOL. Jon this is very true. If I could do it, anyone can. Im about as dumb as they get when it comes to wiring and building. (Shut up Rooster)

Like yes, but you had help.
The first thing I did is mistake small cap screws for rivets.
I almost ground them off, but asked about them I was told that they were screws.
I’m waiting for the lever from Accucraft.
I’m going to set everything up and take some pictures before I start anything.

Time out here. The rivets are rivets not screws. so I had to grind the rivet heads off where I could reach but had ground a bit too much had some damage to the strap.

as you can see in the picture on the left side. I guess I should post my own RC install. When I get a little further on I will post the pics as I go. I still need to get some parts before I get started.
Thats strange Dave that the tender is held on by rivets. Wonder if it was done that way to the earlier Forneys and then later on changed it to hex screws? You could always remove those brackets and make new ones with some brass and then use hex screws to re-attach the bunker. Wont be hard to do.
I was thinking(and that is a lot for me) that I could leave it that way as to add to the tattered look of a well used loco.
Well I worked at the RC install most of the afternoon and part of the evening.
I got one lever on the steam valve.
I drew a big blank. I guess I’ll just have to hire someone to put the RC in for me.
Like I said before I’m stupid when it comes to this, I just don’t understand it.
Or I can put it back and forget about it. That’s probably what’s going to happen.
I did do a lot of cleaning though.
I can fix broken stuff but figuring out an install isn’t my cup of tea.
David,
I’m sure between Sean and I we can help you out.
Nico
Sorry I meant Shawn.

And I emailed him my cell number. It can be a bit daunting if you have no idea where to start - and every add-on RC project requires a bit of fabrication, which isn’t really hard, just takes a willingness to give it a go and not get frustrated with mistakes. I know that’s easy to say, but we’ve all had to learn the hard way
I did get some much needed cleaning done if nothing else.
I went back and looked at the pics he posted, just trying to figure out how he got the arm of the servo to stick out of the coal bunker.
Maybe my servos are too big to do that?
I have to go to town, but when I come back I’ll have to take another look at it.
I did get a new RC unit. the servos are so tiney.
All that stuff should fit in the bunker. I think?
I’m trying to remember where I put the battery holder.
Meanwhile I’m building a new Outhouse.
