Adding figures to Bachmann Peter Witt

Hi All

I’m a newbie in G and will be starting a traction based railroad in the spring. I’d like to add figures to my recently purchased Witt and would like to solicit advice from others who have. The documentation provided with the car is confusing and I’m nervous about removing random screws.

Thanks in advance

Jon

Jon, I have one of those cars, but I have yet to populate it.

Welcome Jon. You have found a great forum.

I don’t have an answer for you but understand your hesitancy to start undoing screws.
Didn’t your trolley come with diagrams of parts?
Does the roof come off?
Are the motor blocks seperate? Don’t mess with those. I’d say flip the trolley over and look for 6-8 screws around the perimeter that hold the body to the base/floor. I don’t have one of these but it seems most Bachmann stuff is built like that.
Take the disasembly slow and take photos if needed they might aide in putting it back together.

These should help…

Thanks all for the feedback. Joe, the PDFs are very helpful. The versions included with the car were hard to read, but these I can enlarge, etc…

I’ll post my progress

Thanks again

Well I took the plunge over the weekend and it was surprisingly easy. About 8 screws and the body lifted right off. My Witt now has a motor man and smattering of passengers. Only after reassembling and putting on the test track did I find out that I knocked one of the rear marker light bulbs askew as it is much dimmer than the other now. Should be an easy enough fix but I’ll save it for another day.

I’m so excited for spring when I can (finally) start laying some track outside

When I found the witt diagrams, the electronic was 3 megabyte thus a much higher resolution.

Gtreat detail when magnified!!!
