Large Scale Central

Added a deep cut to the railroad

What better to do with a week vacation, 95 degree heat and high humidity.

I decided to dig a cut under my current layout to add more depth and be able to run 2 trains without crashing into each other. I eyeballed the levelness of the cut - still have some work to do evening it out. Moved many MFR and a few BFR. Think I will wait until fall to add the roadbed.

Thanks

Dennis

Looks good bro!

Nice Dennis

Hey that looks great Dennis, I especially like the passenger cars. Did you scratch build them?

So, you found something to do on a cool day! I spent today cleaning out my above ground pool, so when it’s 100+ (again) I’ll have a place to cool off without running the AC!

Addition looks great. Nice work.

Looking great. The Earth isn’t flat after all!

Dennis, nice addition…

Chuck,

The passenger cars are 1 1/2 Aristo Sierra cars spliced together.

Dennis

BTW…nice to see you posting again DT!

Thanks Rooster,

I work on the railroad in spurts.

Dennis

That was a good spurt!

I like that cut it really adds another dimension to your RR. Watch out though I once had a deep horseshoe shaped cut and it was a magnet for leaves etc… everytime the wind blew. It was such a pain that I eventually turned it into a tunnel.
Happy RRing

I like the cut and new track but what I really like is those passenger cars. How about more and better pics?

Great work all around

Booomer

Boomer,

I have a few pics of the passenger cars.

Hope you like them

Boomer,

I have 4 more to cut up but I think my railroad is too small for a large passenger train.

Nope!

CUT THEM UP

Twist my arm Rooster.

Cry “mercy” when your ready to quit !

No larger than my line is…I’m contemplating a dedicated passenger engine and a string of heavyweight steel narrow gauge varnish…
