Accucraft rolling stock

Yuh know, Accucraft plastic rolling stock is a good value for what you pay for them.

Take for instance years ago, you would pay 70 or 80 bucks for an LGB car. Then add KD’s and steel wheels. For not much detail.

I recently bought an AMS D&RGW box. It is highly detailed. Has nice steel wheels and fairly good couplers.
Has good heft and looks to be well made.
For less than 70 bucks.

You don’t do anything to it but run it. You can weather it a little if you wish.

I like 'em.
Wish I had 100 or so of them instead of the LGB, Delton, USA, etc narrow gauge I have now.

JB: I really agree! And the same applies to Bachmann’s new 1:20.3 cars. Can’t wait to get some of those tank cars.

I have quite a few LGB, Delton and USA pieces I would sell or trade in a heartbeat.

Happy RRing,

I picked up five AML (division of Accucraft) 1:29 boxcars a year or so ago, when RLD had them out for under fifty bucks each. Completely agree - excellent value for money, with steel wheels and three sets of couplers included.

After running my Accucraft for a couple months, I’ve had to make some adjustments.
A couple of cars would constantly derail for no particular reason.
I changed out the couplers to KD 789 center sets and the de-railing stopped.
Every now and then an Accucraft coupler would let go during operations, so I changed out the whole fleet to KD 789’s.
