Accucraft couplers on Bachmann C-19

I recently purchased a Bachmann C-19. Not like the K-27, the C-19 does not look as if will accept Accucraft couplers. I am now looking for suggestions from the experts as how to make this conversion. Any Ideas?

I’m pretty sure Al has installed Acucraft couplers on a Bachman C-19.

Richard,

you will need to look in the Archives for the whole article. to get the correct coupler height on the front I seam to remember cutting off the existing coupler and bolting the Accucraft on top, perhaps with some filing. for the rear I think I just carved away the existing box and bolted on the Accucraft one. I also made new coupler lift bars with solid bars instead of the loop provided. the slightly larger wire provides the delaying action by keeping the coupler open until you manually lower the bar.
