Accucraft 3 Cylinder Shay. - AML 0-6-0

Sale pending

Hi folks,

I have an Accucraft 3 cylinder shay which I’m considering selling or trading for a 1:29 live steam locomotive.

The shay has been asthetically customized (weathering, lettering, and wooden decking). The boiler steams great, and has an excellent burner. Includes good all valve. I have also refreshened the valve gear with new eccentric straps and re-profiled eccentrics. Locomotive runs strong in both directions.

Im making the move back to 1:29 scale, as my layout lends itself more to standard gauge trains. Although the shay runs nicely on my layout, i find i find it runs a bit slow on the long straightaways.

Im specifically looking for an AML 0-6-0 with tender, or an AML K4 Pacific either for trade or purchase (contingent upon sale of the Shay).

What are you asking for the shay ? I have a K4 electric version that I may sell or trade if you are interested if you are not looking for LS .

Hi Harold,

I’m looking to get $1400 for the engine. Thanks for the offer on the K4, but I am interested in the LS version.

Hi folks,

How about $1300?

The postage to the UK would be about $1300 , so I have to decline your kind offer .

Hi Mike,

Ive looked into it a bit actually. For USPS International, I estimate $250 with insurance. UPS would be more like $400. If you wanted to give it a go, I would literally bring it to the Post Office for an accurate quote. I’m not sure what the taxes would be like though…

Ah , yes , I forgot that . Ah well , never mind .

I have an Aristo 0-4-0 live steamer that runs good.

That is actually a very good price for a great-looking nad well-cared-for live steamer.

If the deal went to $1300.00 plus $250 shipping and insurance, it would break down like this -

Total customs value (CIF): £979.73 This is the amount that customs values your import at - Duty: £0.00 - VAT: £195.95 Total import duty & taxes due: £195.95 This is the amount that needs to be paid to customs Total landed cost: £1175.68 This is the total cost of importing, including product, shipping, insurance and import duty & taxes

Sounds like a great deal to me, bearing in mind that the new one is the thicker side of £2000.00.

If I didn’t already have one, I’d have this one for sure.

Arriving here in yUK, that would ‘attract’ 20% VAT -
