SHANE… What’s left to build , other than the layout improvements

Boy Sean, my list never seems to get shorter.

My pile of locomotives upstairs I’m hoping will become an SD38-2 ( ex-NAR ) , SD70M-2, possibly X2, another SD40-2w and a standard cab SD40-2, and an IC SD70.

On the rolling stock front, I’m currently working on boxcars. I have 20 AML grain hoppers that need to be made road worthy. I just picked up 4 more Bethgons from RLD which will be future projects. On the scratch build front, I have an NSC 40’ 5 pack I started designing and working on two years ago. It’s stalled as I try to get more information about what the insides of the cars look like. If it turns out, there could be some more intermodal projects in the future to make the trains look a little more interesting.

My wishlist still includes gondolas, lumber cars, and a 250ton crane.

As for the layout, I think I still need about 5 years to get it to a somewhat completed state. ( Are they ever complete? )

I’ll try to post you a couple of photos tonight.

Shane

PS-Just remembered I have some GP38-2’s and GP40-2’s that need wide cabs. That could happen this winter. :open_mouth:
PSS-the friend I built this locomotive for is also asking for an SD75IACC, so that will probably end up on my desk someday.

Your list sounds about the same length as my future build list, except I’m working on layout projects first and then will circle back to rolling stock and locomotive projects. With not that many buildings to build, I figured it would be a quicker process. :joy: And I still have enough rolling stock to make things operational.

When will they be done?

You’re probably doing it the right way Craig. My layout is pretty lifeless at the moment.

That is a very good question.

Here’s what the intermodal project currently looks like. I have no idea when it will be complete.

Here’s a current layout photo. The pile of clay is almost gone. The two single bridges sitting on the city deck on the left will eventually bring the two tracks out of the trees on the right. I’m hoping I can do that this fall.

Here’s the two new GP9rm’s getting a test run this morning. I hope they will be in service by the end of the summer.
