Large Scale Central

Aaron's Mik's build 2017

For some reason I lost track of time and thought it started next week, but here goes With all the talk of people round these parts getting stoned lately, I should probably build a rehab center

So with a struggling shortline, the boss is trying to get a small industry in town to keep going and help town revenue. With all the talk in the LSC world and this talk of “drawing things on napkins”, it was decided to get an industry that can help all these crazy modelers keep going in the winter months. So for this years build challenge I present: Boomer’s Paper Works

A sample of the product has been made and some rough drawings made up for construction

Will be a 2 story building with a loading dock on main floor to service both rail and truck freight. stone base floor, with a wood upper floor/office space.

with stones coming in soon, the boss has decided to hold a meeting for the Roundy Round Runners to look over the plans, pizza will be served, along with some donuts for desert! stay tuned…

A rehab center would get plenty of business with this group. That will be a nice addition Aaron and good use of the stones.

Sweet glad you joined the fray

I think I am past rehabilitation. I have Narrow Gauge Madness too acute to treat.

Good afternoon, Aaron, I am RRR #47 and I approve your plan. I’ll take you up on the pizza and donuts now; please send by United Parcel. (Or, if you prefer, send ten dollars and I’ll buy them myself (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif))

Now get to work!

It is very contagious hahaha

So with needing new classrooms for the bilingual school and repairs on the church, scale building had to take a back seat to 1:1 building hahaha.

So the RRR met last week for its meeting to work over the plans, but the topic kept coming full circle. The meeting was considered a shambles due to the plans being drawn on a square napkin, however it did come in handy when the pizza was served (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

So construction was set to begin, but due to the LSC challenge crew all being stoned, it was decided to hire out help, so the work was done by Taylor Stone Co.

stone first floor put it, definitely not as fancy as others I have seen, but nice and basic

on the side I left space to put an add on

though build supplies are rather limited in the mountain here, I did source some sticks used for frozen chocolate bananas, you can buy a package of 100 or so for about 10 limperas (about 45 cents) they are kinda rustic, and look great with a little weathering. Here the front side is shown with windows. receiving door is also going into place. a small interior will be built here

I like it !

Where will you be placing the “Taylor” head stone?

Don’t you hate it when real life gets in the way of playing with toy trains? Looks like your stone masons know their trade well.

Uh…I don’t think head stone is exactly the right word. Let’s hope not anyway!

PIZZA!!!

Still having some delays. this past week I have had an infection in my intestines, so I have had to take it easy for a bit, and then had to plan a trip into the states in order to renew my 90 day visa before I can return into Honduras, so I am now about 2,000 miles away from the project. Hopefully when I return next week I can hit it hard again. will probably not be fully done, but the building itself could be 90% or so. But should give me something to tinker on throughout the year as I scrounge up the right bits for the project (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)gonna do a little scrounging here in Florida before going back to see if I can find any interesting bits to add (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

That Boomer always does over build things. A stone paperworks. Who else but Boomer would build such a place. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Nice work Aaron. Hope your over whatever infection you caught.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Cool build Aaron… Keep it up …
