Noticed this on another Forum:
Phil, cool, thanks. I was wondering what train trip we were going to do this summer. You have answered that question. Thanks
Ive been reading up on this place for a couple of months and watching there video’s looks like

Yep, not a bad little trip, and photo opps galore if you just open your eyes.
I’ll check with them before the show, because although they don’t list anything for that weekend, you’ll note that the listing only shows special events, not the scheduled runs.
This railroad and the possibility of a post ECLSTS trip has been discussed on the Aristo Forum The thread started last October but I have no idea how far it has progressed. Anyway, there are, it seems others, as well as LSC Members, who would be interested in such a trip on this railroad.
Shucks, no scheduled trips that weekend - I almost had the "Civil"war department (wife’s from Miss.) talked into going!

This is a MUST SEE and I’m not even into steam but I love history! Been there once and I will return a few more times as there is a lot more in the surrounding area that I wanted to see. Not to mention there is a killer dinner not far from it. Hope you guys can get enough folks together for a run.
My wife and I along with another couple went there in September. The day we went there New Freedom had a big celebration. The Stewardston(?) RR had a booth there as well as a switcher. Enjoyed the ride and there are a lot of photo ops along the ride. We enjoyed the celebration and the ride. BTW, in the summer they have a ice cream truck meet them at the end of the outbound run and you can visit the Museum they stop at as well.
Regards,
LAO
Larry Did you take many pictures, How about bringing some to a meeting
Phil,
I didn’t take a lot of pictures. was enjoying the ride.

This is a brand new locomotive - built specifically for this attraction - very cool.

Yes it is Jon and a lot of neat other things to explore as well. There is a walking trail next to it with lots of re-habed and ruined structures …very cool place and hope it catches on1
I meant to say ‘Catch’s On’ ¡ not 1. Stupid “shift button” is next to the “caps lock” …daah …why are there manufacturing flaw’s on this keyboard?
Thanks for the pics, Rooster.
If they run ECLSTS weekend, I’ll pay them a visit
Ralph
Even if they decide not to run …perhaps the crew could get a look at the line and the equipment? It’s so close to the fair grounds it ain’t even funny. Folk come in and head to Strasburg and Baltimore.
Edit to say we give you the address(for your GPS) or a map at the show and you find it yourself! I’m thinking 1/2hr from the fairgrounds.
This sounds great! Would love to be able to ride it on Sunday. Maybe we could get them to pass out literature at the front door of the Fairgrounds. I think Saturday and Sunday could be profitable for them. I think the TCA weekend could be, also. Looks like a great place to explore. Its been a number of years since we’ve been to Strasburg, also.
