Recently I moved a switch and added a crossing in my Main Yard and what a difference it has made to the operations.
It’s crazy how a little rebuild like this can change things and it left me wondering why I didn’t do it years ago.
The video shows the before and after then we take a tour of how my track powered yard works.
Cool, very smooth operation in that yard.
Isn’t it something when we all of a sudden get that “well duhhh” moment and think why didn’t I think of that years ago.

The AH HA moment is awesome especially when it works.
While the track was taken up to do this improvement I thought of another down closer to the engine house but I just could not get the switch to fit in where I wanted it no matter what was moved, pinched or trimmed. Oh well, sometimes you just can’t get there from here as they say.
The only thing that would be better than the crossing is to fit in a double slip switch, maybe someday, if I can find one cheap enough but for now this setup is good.
