Large Scale Central

A viaduct for the J&B RR

Kinda looks like it should have been there all along… Gives that real ““Homey”” feel to the area… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Bruce, looks great. And so quickly done!!

Thanks, Cliff! But, you have to realize that not ALL projects take eight years! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

OK, I HAD posted this:

Bruce, can you PLEASE slow the heck down?! Sheesh, you’re making certain project threads look like a slo-mo vid of snails crawling!!” (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

But, since you’re a sensitive guy, I deleted all that and typed something more happy… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Well, I DO appreciate that. I’m pretty sure you can’t have a “Golden Spike” ceremony for an already completed railroad…,

BUT, I think an ops session is in your future - if we can ever find a day when the temperature plus humidity is less than 180! Maybe September???(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif)

Bruce,

This may be true “however” OSHA says that’s “it’s,it is” legal to have a “Golden Spike” ceremony for the new viaduct as you “broke rail” too install it! Besides the last Viaduct build on LSC covered sacred ground. So…my question is? What are the plans for naming this area and will there be a monument? ALSO…Is it true that the Golding and Clarke expedition made it that far southeast?

Last time I had OSHA approve anything, it didn’t work out quite right…

As for naming anything, the world is just too small to have more than one “Dead Rooster Gulch”.

Yes I agree no more Roosters should be sacrificed. However I was thinking there is a Thorton Viaduct in England and there could be a Clarke , Golding or Brunt Viaduct in VA. You know something along those lines. Besides it will give you a winter project to make a monument or two.

I’m not against sacrificing a Rooster or ten (or even a hundred if that’s what it takes!). (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

But, I’ve already named a bunch of stuff for folks that have operated on my layout - and a very few places for folks where I’ve operated on their layout; all visible here. At any rate, those listed already have a named structure on the J&B.

I’ve probably left somebody out that I can offend.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

“Dead Rooster Viaduct??”…mmm has a nice ring to it…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

(I’ll go back behind the curtain now)

Fair enough Bruce. So how about making some Brunt Bobbleheads over the winter to sell? I know you retired guys need to stay busy!

I dunno…it just seems like the market for Bobbleheads is pretty saturated already… (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Edit:

It looks like the market for Rooster stuff is pretty saturated as well…

Making some progress. The lower humidity helps a LOT.

I screwed the through girder pieces to the ends of the viaduct and covered them with rolled roofing material; held in place with “Wet Patch”

I should get the track in place today.

It looks better with track! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)

Great looking viaduct Bruce! Been thinking I’d like one, but was trying to figure out how build it, 'til now

Looks good Bruce !
