Accent’s are Hyundai’s …“it’s a detail” and there were pictures on my “old” thread but with age they have been buried.
Viaduct is looking good …when does it get installed?

Funny what you see AFTER someone points out the minor details, Been looking at different videos and still cannot tell if people have H&L or brand K couplers, so the hard to see details may not be as needed as I once thought. Maybe if several people point something out THEN I would think about getting a NO RIVET COUNTERS sign! Chances are no one will notice if the arches are wood or plastic. My .02 worth. Oh yeah one guy’s videos I can finally see he uses all USA truck mounts! the Horror

I think what’s funny is how important some details are when I am building a model, but how unimportant they are once it’s on the layout.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-embarassed.gif)
I love the rosettes – a nice, simple way to give the bridge a little character.
Well, without Rooster’s help, I had to find this by myself. I gotta do everything around here.

Oh so humid! Hard to work outside for long, so it’s REALLY time for some indoor work.
I’m still trying to make these cut down 2x8 look more like a through girder bridge.
I start with putting some angle on. Before I cement it in place, I cut some slots for the vertical pieces.
Later, I put some “T” pieces in between…
I’ve been using some Acrylic cement for this - nothing else seems to stay in place. And, I’m using escutcheon pins to help hold the angle in place while the glue sets up.
Wonderful progress Bruce, this is looking amazing!
Thanks.
I’m finding out that my planning skills are not all that great, but they seem to be a heck of a lot better than my execution skills! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)
Still, I’m pretty pleased with it so far. I just wish SOMEBODY would turn down the heat! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif)
I started removing the old trestle, and got a much better view of the rot.
Not good.
It’s too humid to level the area, but I just put the viaduct and through girder roughly in place to see how it might look.
I think this will look good.
i think this already looks good
Yeah, what Korm said… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Yea, what they said…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
When you can, it will finish up Grand. If not for the track, we could be fooled now.
The Humidity … I remember when the Navy ordered us to Norfolk, my west coast lungs didn’t like it at all!
I was outside yesterday, only 110 here and I stayed cool with an evaporation towel over my head … too bad it can’t help you.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)
Looking great, Bruce!
Here’s a thought, in case you felt compelled to get a little more mileage out of the old trestle. You could re-plant it in the dirt, parallel with the viaduct, just shoving the bent posts down as needed. Then light it on fire! It would represent what the new viaduct replaced (which it did…).

I dunno…fire on the layout seems awfully dangerous. I can’t imagine anybody doing it on purpose…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Me, neither …
Looks great Bruce!
Looks like it was made for that spot. Nice work (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Actually, it WAS made for THAT spot! (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)
It’s down to 82 today (so far), which means it’s cool enough to work. Well, it’s cool enough UNTIL you start to work…
Anyway, the first order of business is getting the trestle ready for the trash.
Technically, this was actually the ending picture, but all of this stuff goes back to the garage. The trestle goes to the big trash can…
Then I use a pick to clear the area for the viaduct and put down some stone dust to help hold it in place and provide some drainage - just so the wood is never tempted to rot.
The track is just laid temporarily in place to see how it’s going to look. The near through girder just has a coat of primer on it - I just finished the angle pieces on it yesterday.
And a view from the “other” side…
I made sure it was level from side to side…but it’s still a slight grade…
It’s uphill toward the camera.
A shot from town…
So, when’s the “Golden Spike” ceremony?..(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
