Update: decided to make this #14 on the roster so a number change was in order. I used some brass dollhouse numbers available at hobby lobby.

next I added some wood bunker extensions. I used one that came off a wood burning annie tender and cut it down

and here it is painted and placed on the tender, decals have also been added

to be continued…
Nice work, Aaron…
Looking good!
Interesting project, it’s nice to see someone doing a straight-boilered Shay for a change.
Almost there: I have decided to add an air tank and plumbing to add some detail. the air tank is made of styrene wrapped around a dowel rod and pins for rivets
(http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s414/trainbuffjr1/finishedshay009.jpg)
i also added a compressor from a ten wheeler
(http://i1050.photobucket.com/albums/s414/trainbuffjr1/finishedshay008.jpg)
and a picture of the back with a rear light installed

Looks great in its natural environment!
Aaron,
That turned out beautifully.
Really like the early look with the straight boiler and fluted domes.
Nice touch with the clerestory roof.
Rick
Nicely done, Aaron…
Love that roof, us!
tac, ig & The Extended Vision Boys
That looks even better out in the natural light. Nice job
Nice work Aaron
Its a great looking shay and he has a photo of the prototype. Fine piece of work.
Oh the pride that engineer must take in his locomotive , really nice looking .
Thanks Everyone: I am having trouble posting a link to the prototype but the inspiration was shop #236, a 45 ton shay built in 1889
