Large Scale Central

A Simulated Caboose Gazeebo

What the bloody thing needs is real wheels, not those square cornered things…Even Jane told me she thought so too…!!
But as David would tell everyone…“The old Man knows best” …besides he is paying for the thing, and may stock bheer in a fridge in it…so he can’t be all bad…!!

Are we having fun yet ?

Looking good Andy! What are the plans for this mighty edifice? Dispatcher’s shack for ops, lunch room, temporary quarters when hiding from the wife??

thanks all…

Don, I plan on making the interior much like an actual caboose, complete with Cupola seating…

When it and the railroad is complete, the caboose will basically be the ““Dispatchers”” office…

The Caboo Motel…

me and ig love it to bits!

Sadly, it’s a bit bigger than our entire back yard…

Don’t forget the satellite TV…and a 30" flat screen would be nice, too…

Doors, Windows, and cupola roof installed:

Cool…it’s “dried in” for Winter !
Ralph

Next…wheels, and proper couplers…

Looks like a BROAD GAUGE car....maybe 5 foot gauge.......

It also needs air hoses…and a chimney…Marker lights would set it off well…

Make sure you have a "Flagging kit".....hanging in the cupboard.....and the air line gauge, at both ends and in the cupola.....

Hey, Andy…if you are going to do it…do it right…!!!

Ya, don't forget the guard rails

got the steps completed, and the ends covered with OSB… built up the curved wall above the doors and covered that with curved OSB board…

Nice! Almost weatherproof for the winter!

Are you going to simulate a plated steel siding or just use a standard lap house siding?

Jake, I am looking at steel siding... Using Square head drive screws to make it somewhat look like rivets...

Got a couple of coats of paint on it, for the winter…

That’s the wrong color Andy. But, it still looks good.

Cool. Same color scheme as your hopper?

Hope you’re planning on a BS logo.

SP & S would look even better, IMO, but then I’m biased.

Actually, the Covered Hopper is a light grey… But, I do believe ““Bluestone Southern”” blue lettering would stand out very nicely on that white background…

Time to head over to the local sign shop and get some large vinyl letters?
