Jon, the OSB held up great.... looks almost like the new stuff we put up this weekend....
Ralph Berg said:Last time I tried it, which has to be at least 10 years ago, it was not very dimensionally stable. Moisture tended to enter the edges and it would swell.Jon Radder said:They build multi-million dollar homes with OSB. They do use it around here for home building, but it’s covered in house wrap almost immediately before any moisture can get to it.
Rafters starting to go up:

The “Gazeeboose” is coming right along. Have you decided on a livery ? If I might be so bold as to offer a suggestion Ralph

(crackin up) Ralph, ummm, NOOOOOOOOO…
The livery is still in an idea mode… I’m kind of leaning towards making the paint white, as some railroads did with cabooses as an advertisement of Safety… Also, the white color should help reflect some of the heat during the summer, and it will help the caboose hide during the winter…
NO!!!

OK, all the cupola roof rafters are installed:
Which end will have the pot-bellied stove with the coffee pot?

Bob McCown said:Bob, it has no wheel sets.... the wheel sets were confiscated to be used on revenue freight service.... It'll just be sitting on blocks, like many an old retired cabboose, used as an office.... :)

Looking good Andy. If you were a real man you would have built a lean-to. Just remember whos tougher lol (Well ok Rooster if your eating him)
Had A ““Club Work Session”” at the house on 8 August… Some of the crew worked on the roof rafters for the west end… Others worked on taping & painting 4 boxes of aluminum track… Today, Jane and I worked on the decking on the west side, and moved the cut pieces to the east side…
have 3 more pieces to attach on the west end, then start attaching the decking on the east end… Finally got a day, where it wasn’t too bad to be outside, working…
As the caboose looks today… Had some help over yesterday, to work on the roof…
Looks like you’re making some progress now that it’s cooled off a bit.
It will be a nice place to hang out.
Ralph
Looking good Andy. Won’t be long now.
