A realy useful Trolley?

I was able to pick up 2 Sam’s Club Sets yesterday.for less than $90 each…now my question as posted on MLS…I am seeking guidance and ideas!

Pt 1:

Did someone here convert a Bachmann Trolley to a Short Passenger Car?

Before I head off to Ebay, I thought I may look into this idea…although It won’t be Fn3(w/o major work?), Neither will the 3 Annies (upsized cabs) I will be running on the NBRR.

Pt 2:

I am thinking more on the passenger car line but using the Trolley Body minus the Drive…I un-boxed all units today and everything ran fine…the Trolley is bigger than the Pass. Car by a good deal, I think it may work for an Fn3 narrow Gauge Shortline Passenger car?

Next question…For future bashing projects, I think I may remove the trucks from the 4 Bachmann coaches and sell just the bodies…do you think anyone would want just the bodies? Not soliciting here, just asking…they look too small to me without major work…besides if the trolleys work out, I really don’t need them! I am modeling a “what if” NG Mining/Logging Line in the Foothills of SC/NC Smokey Mountains.

Thanks in advance!

Happy New Year!

Cale,
I have done this in On30 using the Bachmann Street Cars. I even did a conversion kit for On30. I am in the process now of doing the patterns for a similar conversion for large scale. Either a passenger car or a caboose similar to the Qincey and Torch Lake’s converted passenger car with cupola. There will be a new platform, steps and end beam as well as window plugs and a cupola. Cool looking car!

Cheers,
Tom
