I will now return to my regularly scheduled program: finishing the large curved turnout.

Sadly I missed that one.

Only Trains is in my backyard, good people to deal with.

$2,399.99 . I hope that was not the sale price and if it was please tell me your joking about it being a good deal. I just dont see it. You can get a nice live steamer for that.

Yep, very prompt service, reasonable prices.

It’s just UPS that does peculiar things, I wonder if they’re hung-over from Thanksgiving or already into the Christmas Cheer.

Of course that was the sale price! That's why I had to laugh so hard! Then I went to the site of a Canadian dealer who sells that same item for $1800 - and he's not a discount house by any means! OTOH you could call it a collectors' item, afix a plaque that says "There's a sucker born every minute!" ;) :) ;)

Since I don’t use charge cards – just wrap one up and mail it to the North Pole!

I thought so but then you had the ups thing below and I thought you bought it. LOL

Sadly with the way Marklin is running LGB thats exactly the price I expected to see. Look at the other stuff listed on there:

Look at this:

http://www.tandkhobby.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=32420&utm_source=amazonproductads&utm_medium=cpc_feed&utm_campaign=comparison_shopping_feeds

A Zillertall keg car, $219.98 LIST PRICE, Yours for a BARGAIN $175.95, Really? Seriously??? for a car thats been around for years and years? I paid $75 for mine NIB only 4 years ago. I should sell it and cash in.

I found somehting about Amazon lately that intrigued me. They are running a “Wishlist” contest where you add items from websites other than Amazon to your Christmas Wishlist on Amazon. I add train items of course and found that while RLD has a good price on his website when it shows up on my “wishlist” on Amazon it is at full list. So I presume that RLD would see his normal selling price and Amazon would pocket the rest if a relative bought it thru them? Maybe that is why you are seeing the huge price disparity? Just a thought anyway…

Chas

Yes, it is strictly for those who “just need to have that” and have too little savvy, too little patience or too much money.

“We live in dangerous times!”

The difference between a “NEED” & a “WANT” can have a huge price difference.

Chas

a rare uncatalogued brass loco’ by lgb ?? LOL

doug

p.s. HJ you use UPS ? don’t they add on to ‘deal’ costs with brokerage fees ! just received 2 large parcels from TW of NY via USPO-cbsa-CPO, no additional u.s. courier brokerage fees, but for the cdn handling & gst fees which . . . . i was just instructed this a.m. to request full refund via the appeals form ! just have to wordsmith the letter to send off to the cbsa addr. !

Hi Doug,

If given a choice I don’t … but it happens sometimes. The last instances were OK as for as the customs routine went, which was a pleasant surprise (as I knock on wood).
