A quick but necessary project A simple freight gondola

or is it?

My last show I took a couple Stomper powered engines to run but I found that I could only get about 1 hour max running time before the battery when kaput. So at the show I determined to make a small track powered pusher car so I could use the Stompers without the batteries. This was the resulting car basically an HLW Gondola body with an AC brick and some Ozark sideframes. Quick but effective, now I can also build some ideas down the line that I could never figure out how to power.

Slick idea. You could build some very unique “dummies” with that system!

That’s the big idea, I have a Trevithik locomotive kit that I couldn’t figure how to power. This should do the trick.

“Historic Rail” sells a kit for the Stephenson’s Rocket that has a motorized version with the tender housing the motor in 1.24 scale. They also have a model of Trevithick’s “Pen-y-darren” which could be motorized in the same way.
I’ve been seriously thinking of getting the Rocket model.
