theres one on Evil Bay right now, not sure where its at on price but think it is way lower than that. The Regal
That looks like the LGB value starter set. I have the same one and got for $140. Do a search for this and I bet you can get it cheeper. The only difference is the stickers

right now, according to my very little research, it’s not a real bad price…I remember when the set went for $119 at TW…gone are those days!
I wonder if we’ll ever see the 65001 sound system again???
cale
Cale,
you are better off ignoring the LGB #65001 as it was an expensive system when you added in the stationary sound module and the bell/whistle contacts.
One eBay seller (hobbiestrader) regularly discounts its LGB American sound tender to $101.99. This will give you a digital sound board plus the bell/whistle contacts. You can then onsell the base tender body for $35.00 upwards and recoup some cost. The sound is not as good as the #65001 but more than OK.
Wholesaletrains.com has the new LGB/Marklin stuff listed but under “future production”
The lowest price starter set is $300 bucks!

Same cars but it comes with a Stainz which is a more powerfull engine, but euro profile not american. So this might not be too bad a deal. But I would check other sources for the older “value set”
I bought the engine and both cars for $50 from a broken set at the ECLSTS last year. The dealer had two lots like this. I guess I should have purchased both.
Big John
again, just looking around, and stumbled over it…thought a newbie-lurker may be interested…the further away from LGB’s demise, the more I appreciate the quality and robust-ness of the product, esp in regards to my boys!!!
cale
Big John, I’d like to find that deal, just for the drives!!!
