A new flat car load from junk

We recently had our burner serviced and the guy replaced this check valve and of course I had to save it for the RR. After adding elbows, painting it in primer and building a shipping cradle I think it makes for an interesting load.
What is it and where it is going, who knows? but it looks good.

It is fun to build stuff from junk.

I think I recognize that piece, isn’t that a left-hand magnetoquantum hydroturbine?

Looks exactly like a turbohimulator, where’d you get the plans?

I assume your Schnabel will carry the wrench, right?

Looks awesome, Todd, very clever!

It’s headed to Marstons Mills River to restore/rebuild the ONLY Hydroelectric plant there.
Cape Cod needs all the extra clean power it can get with this energy hungry AI (not al ) taking over the grid these days.

Thanks guys. It is an odd piece but it is not the RR’s business to know what it is or what it is for. We only ship it.
We do suspect it is some type of turbo for some waterworks electric plant.

Rooster I was not aware of that hydroelectric setup on Marston Mills. I wonder if there is anything left of it? I know that someone did test turbines in the Cape Cod Canal about 15 years ago. I don’t know what happened to that? It seemed like a great idea because the tide rips through there. The State could really use that power though. Our Governor is proud that she blocked 2 pipelines and she is happily hanging our energy future on offshore windmills, but she doesn’t say what we will do when the wind doesn’t blow.

Todd,
History will fry your brain real fast. Just drink alcohol and smoke the peace pipe like our ancestors did. OR you could go for a looksee??

Looks like a Gonkulator

Exactly Pat!

The Gonkulator (his flat load) is on it’s way to Marstons Mills River to repair/rebuild the hydroelectric dam. Once delivered it will be connected to the Turbo Encabulator so it can transmit the electricity needed to support all this AI power consumption which I covered from the start!

The link below is directly from MIT and not really in Todd’s hood from back in the day but a hood that’s close.

That is funny. The Barbara Streisand is strong with that guy.

Rooster I think your theory of the AI coming to the Cape might be true. The Cape Cod Potato chip factory is closing down this Spring so the AI might be going in that building plus this thing was sighted on the RR not that long ago. We have no idea what it is and didn’t ask.

Todd,
I know about Cape Cod chips and it pisses me off enough to sell some Campbells stock!

BTW …the “Boot” loco can pull the train just in case it floods or gets muddy at the creek.

They will still be made, just not here. They are a victim of their own success and the politics of this State.

I understand, Hershey is about 20 minutes from me ( on a good day) and if Milton was still alive he would be kicking some ass and taking names! It’s called big business these days I suppose?

I hear you, Rooster;

In the year they tore the old factory down, I was putting flowers on my parents’ graves in Palmyra. As I placed the flowers on Mama’s grave, I could swear I heard spinning! (Mama worked there over 40 years,)
