Liar
Ken, at $9.00 for a 15" x 15" sheet of that Ozark Miniatures stuff, how much do you think you will put into your roof, when it’s done?

I prefer CA glue and baking soda. It makes a stronger bond.

All in all, Steve, about 4 sheets, with all the angles there’s a lot of waste. Plus 2 more for the freight end of it.

Yea, Roos, that’s next…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Two thumbs up Ken. Really taking on some character now. I’m still waiting for those radiused sections of lower roof over the platform though…

In between fiddlin with this roof, I’ve been cutting pieces out for that. That ought to be fun, too…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Wow Ken, this is looking fantastic!
Looks like too much fun, but I won’t be copying this build, LOL

Shut Up, Rooster.
Started adding the trim along the roof edges.
Once that’s done, I’ll re paint thew roof to blend it all in.
And while that’s going on, trying some things out with the porch roof.
What isn’t noticeable in the picture is the angled block under that roof section. That will be used to hold the roof to the wall by a few “screws”…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif) it’s also screwed to the roof panel.
The roofing for the porch is shake shingles from Plastruct. It’s a bit more expensive then the Precision Products roofing, but it’s a lot thinner and more flexible. And easier to work with. If I’d have seen this sooner I would have used it for the whole roof as it comes in 6"x24" wide panels. There would be less vertical seams but more horizontal. Less noticeable.
That’s just a test piece to see if this works. I’ll had some sheet styrene under that roof panel to give it a little more support.
If you heat the plastruct evenly with a heat gun (or blow torch from a distance) and let it cool it should naturally conform to that bow(angle)

Sorry, Dave, but something about Roosters playing with blow torches seems like a disaster in the making.

I’d pay money to watch, though. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

What about a cutting torch, plasma cutter, welder or better yet making doors or shutters on a portable router table with large stile and rail router bits.
