Large Scale Central

A healthy hobby

In 1999 I had a stroke.

When I was starting to recover I knew that with my poor eyesight HO was out of the question. One day I stumbled across Large Scale Central Central.

The late Tiny Pearce and several others who are on this list turned me onto Large Scale. It has been part of my stroke therapy ever since.

Tiny, who lived in Northern Nevada, did extensive cribbing on his layout. The last few weeks I’ve been using what I remember on my layout.

…winking…

I like it.

Anything that makes you happy, helps keep you healthy

I hope you keep up your therapy for a long time

Hey Doug,

I too, was inpressed with Tiny’s layout! He had a great desert railroad and it was fairly large if I recall correctly. Lots of wood trestles and loads of short tunnels. Reminded me a lot of the abandoned prototypes along the Southern California/Mexican border, east of san Diego.

Nice buildings Doug!

Ken,that is great being able to see the site and Tiny again.

It helps me remember what I’ve forgotten!

Tiny looks like he enjoyed life.

I was fortnate to meet Tiny while he was visiting the local large scale train club in Las Vegas some years ago. Tiny !!! He was a big feller and most pleasant person. My regrets, he died too soon. TOF

That he did Daryl. Good friend, good modeler and just a good guy to be around.

Doug, I was surprised his website was still up. Brought back some memories viewing it.

I knew Tiny from the Chicago and Cincinnati Conventions many years ago. Truly a gentleman and a gentle giant. Sadly missed, but wonderful to know.

Good post Doug! Take good care of yourself. I want you to be happy!

Looks like Tiny was a warm and friendly guy. That isn’t hard to take.
