I know whats in his hand…but I’m not telling…
Handheld atomic generator …no more stink’ n batteries to go flat during an op session ever again.
PS lead lined underwear optional.
It sure ain’t got anything to do with AristoCraft. Although it may end up being so.
Bart is the closest.
I’ll give y’all a clue.
What is the single most important reason why Large Scalers contemplating battery R/C give that they will not use Digital Proportional R/C control?
The size of the TX. I must admit they are big even if they have fantastic range and superb control.
Nah!! You might as well know to stop the Aristo BS so here it is.
A handheld Digital Proportional speed control compatible with all DSM2 RX’s.
It is a working prototype that can be operated by one hand.
It will be compatible with my RCS stuff and Dels’ RailBoss.
This sample has only one sound trigger, but the final production will have two plus a third function for operating a Kadee servo uncoupler.
Available soon but no idea of final price from the maker.
Before anyone asks, at this stage, sadly it is not suitable for Live Steam because of the way the direction change works, but a TX that will be suitable is being planned too.
Oh!! One last thing. It is not being made by me.
I like it Tony. Is it compatible with that system you sold me last year? Forget what its called. If so I might have to order one.
Hi Shawn.
It will be compatible with any RCS system that is using the operating program Av1.
Aw Tony, ya spoiled all the fun. You could have just said…
Anticipate !
Cool!
Sweet!
My opinion only, and only right for me…I do not like using a typical R/C aircraft radio for trains, strikes me as counter-intuitive. I use my stick radios for rolls, split-S’s, loops, and stall turns. This has indeed kept me from considering a proportional control system. I like the idea of a throttle knob, wish Aristo had one with the Revo.
Interesting. I shall continue to watch for further details!
I knew that…hehehehheh

While I can’t argue that the 2-Stick radios aren’t a little too big; I don’t have any problem with using them for trains. I was never an R/C Plane guy and when I did R/C cars I had a pistol grip TX so my brain isn’t trained to the aircraft functions.
I like using the stick throttle, but a knob would be just as good. The point is that you can move the throttle a little or a lot in one move. For sound functions it really doesn’t matter; stick or button. Both will get the job done. If we ever have a playable whistle then a proportional stick trigger would be great, but until then it’s just an on/off switch.
I really hope this TX comes in at an affordable price ($40-90) and has good supply to give a boost to the digital proportional ESC makers.

Now there’s a reason for a stick radio!
Some years ago the possibility of a quillable (playable) whistle was discussed with Phoenix to no avail.
I doubt it will happen with them.
No idea on price other than it will be more expensive than an el cheapo 2.4 GHz 6 channel TX and less expensive than a Spektrum DX6i TX.
There is not enough margin for an importer to wholesale to dealers and still keep it low cost. Dealers will be able to buy them from the maker (not me) and make a reasonable profit. The maker also has a very nice range of other battery R/C stuff, right down to N Scale believe it or not.
The TX, when it is available, is not meant to be the be all of function availability. Rather it is for convenience of use by the average operator with RCS & Rail Boss ESC’s and not complicated functionality.
Hmmm I seem to do a decent job of ‘playing’ whistling with my two stick RC and Sierra sound…just ask the neighbor kids…I do FOREWARD REVERSE and GRADE CROSSING…mainly grade crossing though cause its gets peoples attention in the alley… Shut Up Rooster…
you’ve gotten my attn!
it appears much easier to use for my little kids!
now if I ever get the track back down?
Meh…I think my ideas better, just have to work out the underwear part.
Neat controller BTW
Thanks for the compliments.
It will be a couple of months before it is available. I will keep y’all up to date.
Can you use it with qsi decoder and g wire?
Yes, the one I have is a modified DELTANG handpiece. If it all works out as I expect they will be marketing them in the USA. Not me.
Deltang make a fantastic range of small lower powered battery R/C ESC’s for the smaller scales, but as yet nothing for the larger Large Scale higher voltage locos. That is what Del and I do.
And, nope. The sample I show is only for RCS or Rail Boss ESC’s which normally use 2.4 GH DSM2 compatible radios.
Brilliant Tony, you may just have acquired a convert. Like one of the previous posters I’ve never found the stick control system an intuitive way to control trains, so although attracted by the advantages of 2.4GHz I’ve been sticking with 422 MHz. But this looks like the bees knees…
