I thought I’d throw up 3 pix of a friend’s new Porter. We ran it for the first time a couple weeks ago but I got so excited that I forgot my camera… I was back over there the other day so I took some pix while there. Thought I’d share them for those that like this type of thing. She’s 3 3/4" scale - 7 1/2" gauge…quite large for a small locomotive. He wanted to run it today but had to work…
Whooooooooooooooooooooooo! Sweet.

Yup. Joe McDermott. He’ll be at the BBQ but the locomotive won’t.
Hadn’t looked here before. That loco is NICE. A real practical scale & gauge for a live steamer to play with. Good railroadin’, . . . .
Unlike other places; we appreciate a “REAL NAME”, from those that post here.
If you have something to hide from…don’t hide here.
Using your name allows anyone that cares to converse with you, a proper way of addressing you. It is a common courtesy to address people properly.
Good Email etiquette should be practised, and properly addressing people is part of it.
Easy Fred. He’s been here a while.
Unlike some that use aliases here that are untrackable, Narrow Gauge Lover has his site posted in his profile and, like TOC his true identity is readily available.
Neat little loco. When I first saw the photo, I looked at the wheels and thought it was a 7/8" scale Ruby conversion. I’m still not convinced those aren’t Ruby wheels. What a cool project. It looks like there used to be a name on the side of the cab–former owner or jilted ex-lover? (Hopefully not both…)
It’s been a few months since you posted these originally. Any chance you were able to get pix/video of her in steam?
Later,
K

Unfortunately I don’t have any vids of it running. It had a few technical problems that needed to be ironed out to get it to work properly. I think those are solved, so maybe next summer I can get some good vids. The name on the side of the cab that was removed “Louie Lettiere”. I don’t know the history behind the name. The locomotive came to him as pre-owned but new.
Thanks for another picture of that great locomotive. A very practical scale & gauge for a live steam, actually ride it, loco. I hadn’t really noticed the use of real names here. That seems already resolved before I got back over here. I’d been using “Narrow Gauge Lover” in anything internet related to trains. It tells about me pretty good. If any one is interested ( what ever for ? ) about other aspects of me, . . they can have a look at my web site. Good railroadin’ . . . . in '08.
