It will bring tears to you eyes.

"When Dubya waves for the last time from the White House lawn, there will be a global fusillade of raspberries.’

Now I will not be able to watch his departure without Phhhhhttttt! :stuck_out_tongue:

Comedians around the world prepare to don the black bands of mourning, the Golden Age is over, now they’ll have prey to find someone so could so self-inflict such searing comedic material, with Dubya the jokes literally just wrote themselves, now they’ll actually have to work at their jokes for a living. :frowning:

Bush never ran arguing that he would increase spending–he consistently argued that his agenda was to cut spending and cut taxes. He never said he planned to increase spending. Then he cut taxes and increased spending, more than any President since WWII. And kept insisting he was a small government conservative while doing it.

At least Obama is honest

“At least Obama is honest”

Mike, and how do you know this?

Well we have proof “W” did not keep his word. The jury’s in, major spending, major debt. With Obama we have to wait a few years to find out.

Well, Obama is honest about big spending and deficit budgets.
He is being honest in this one instance.
However, just because it is cold today, doesn’t mean it will be cold everyday.

It does appear that the economic policy is determined by the men behind the curtain.
And these people remain, no matter which figurehead the public elects.

The last thing I seen in the news about “the Gentleman from Chicago, that moved to DC”", was, he was pushing to get his tax evading finance representative into his position as soon as possible, even asking the senators in congress to ““forgive some procedures and streamline”” his candidate into office…

And they say ““Chicago”” politics wouldn’t go to DC… hehehe

““If a president does it, then it’s not illegal””

As far as I can tell Obama has not done anything illegal–he’s asked the Senate to expedite the appointment, which is legal, and he’s done so publicly and in the clear light of day.

It would be more accurate to say “if the treasury secretary nominee does it, it’s not illegal.”

Geithner is Obama’s nominee for Secretary of the Treasury. He’s the one who has done something illegal–he’s not from Chicago, by the way–and you could make a good argument he should either withdraw or be withdrawn. Failure to pay taxes is pretty serious for anyone and especially for a guy who’s supposed to be treasury secretary. I’d ask him to withdraw, if I were Obama. But Obama has done nothing whatsoever illegal in this. I’m not sure what’s “Chicago style” about it.

Geithner’s problems should be shoved under the rug without much fan fare. Even if he does withdraw or is not confirmed, I’m sure he will stay part of the behind the scene system - “Because we need his expertise”. He’s a very smart man and besides taxes are for the little people. Have you ever looked into how lawyers get around paying FICA and income tax? But then again these people aren’t those corrupt, capitalistic CEO’s, so its okay.

“Chicago Style” - if we aren’t talking about pizza, we are talking about corruption.

Geithner will be approved.
The New York banks are running the show. If not Geithner, it will be someone else out of the Federal Reserve Bank.
