First pair of ducks showed up on our “lake”, Duchess (the younger Husky) assessed the situation and the ducks moved.
Looks like they didn’t get the message loud and clear.

“the plan” calls for some other “diversion” and we shall see what the “quacking, honking” echo is.  ( as they say: to be continued!)
I didn’t mind the geese stopping for a rest, but I didn’t want them taking up residence. Angel seemed to understand and would run them off after an hour or so.
I’ve had four ponds I put in some ten years back, one fairly large. Living in a forest of mature oaks seems to keep the waterfowl away, despite living close to a lake. I have learned to carefully select the plants thanks to our resident wildlife. Deer visit daily for the acorns under one particular tree, and do some extra pruning for me. We have a three legged deer I this year I have grown fond of, even though he seems to eat anything. Wild rabbits are also abundant.
I have my tracks directly in front of my house for this reason. I ruled out the area behind my house since the only plants that don’t get eaten there are thorny bushes. The dog sleeps on the front porch, so at least I have a “watchman” on duty there much of the time.
