Large Scale Central

A few changes to the KMRR

I have not done much to the layout in the last month or so. Just been relaxing and watching the trains run. I did change two things. One I built a wall along my S curves. I needed something to hold the dirt back from the Mt. I also took up my alysums I had growing by the tunnel. They got too big and started to block the area. I I replaced it with moss. Here are a few pictures. I am also in the process of building a water tower. It is almost done. No pictures yet until it is done. This is the before without a wall

Change I did

Closer look

The tunnel without the alysum

Two bonus pictures (playing with angles ect…)

I likes it!

Nice looking railroad Shawn  I wish I had your luck with Alyssum. Mine stops flowering soon after the days get long and in general don’t do well. They’ll probably start to come back in a week or so when it starts cooling down and then in another few months they succumb to the frost.

Wow! You’ve come a long way. What is that stuff covering the rocks in the last picture? Looks familiar…

Thanks the last picture is gold creeping Jenny.

That’s what I thought, but it looked to big. Coulda been the camera angle. Thanx.

Shawn,

Great work!

Beautiful scenery and photos , well done .

Neat. I love the look of that S curve. I’m starting to use a bit more stone myself, and I like your wall.

How much straight did you include between the curves? It all looks so sweet, I am inspired to go out and work on mine.

I used the 6.5 aristo cruves with a 1 ft straight where the curves change direction. It worked out great. I dont ever plan on running anything big, just small stuff. Bruce: Thanks I love the way rocks look on a RR they seem to add to the layout. You can do some much with them plus I have so much rock on my propertry I couldnt pass that up, thanks to the last ice age and the farmers in the 1800 who built all the rock walls around. :-) If you need any rock I have plenty left. I even have some volcanic rock from the old extict volcano just down the rd.

looking good amigo!

Very Scenic, when do the tourist excursions begin:)

Beautiful looking layout, you’ve done a great job on it…

The tourist are welcome to come over whenever they want. Only problem is people hear NJ and they dont want to come. Mid oct is the best time when the leaves are at peak color.
