There is more than what shows in the photo, it’s a couple of complete LGB sets with extra cars. 50 + pieces of track, straights, 4’ dia & 8(?) diameter curves.
Any suggestions or arm twists?

since they are real LGB, no doubt a few years old but with minimal use and they’ve been mostly in climate controlled storage.
price… $299.00 for everything

Go for it. The engines are not my style but whatever you dont use or need sell. You might be able to make the money back or make more. I like the 4 wheel cars.

Since the guy has had them for a while how much does he really want ot sell them? I would offer him $250, I think they are worth the $300 he is listed but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
On the open market (EBAY) The 2 engines are about $75-$100 a piece. Each car 2 axle car though not as popular as 4 axle American style go for about $20-$40. Sell these with the boxes, people like boxes. The track is the real value in this set. A circle or 4’ diameter is $40-$50 a circle of 8’ diameter hovers around $100+
I agree with Shawn buy the lot keep what you like anad sell the rest. You may just break even or even make a few bucks.
in the pix, 10 2 axle cars at $25 each, and $75 per engine makes $400, plus track and more items, definately worth the 299. I would buy these for the 299 esp if local or free pickup delivery. If you do not take these, I would.

with a little patience you could sell that stuff easily for 4 or 5 hundred.

keep the trains yourself, give the boxes to the pitbulls and the bill to your wife.
that would make the majority of the family happy.

I took the plunge & called him back. Told him I’d buy the trains
for his asking price. ( I did ask if he’d go lower, but he checked
prices on evil bayou and is firm on the price.)
He’s heading to Dallas for the weekend, so I’ll meet with him
next week to pick up the stuff…
I can use the track and the 4’ diam. curves will go to the
soon to be re-gauged into O gauge track pile.
I can always sell the boxes on evil bayou…

I managed to get the trains home the other day…
Thought I was doing good, getting them into the house without SWMBO seeing them/me.

SWMBO informed me that she has claimed the Circus set & extra cars to go along with her B-mann Ringmaster Circus set.
Good news is that they’re all of German manufacture and I get to keep the track & boxes…
